I've been here a couple of times during a 5 week business stay in Brisbane CBD. It's got a really laid back vibe. The food is varied and flavoursome with both the pork belly linguini and the chili cajun prawn fettucine delicious. A small wine list is probably the only set back, but there's enough on there to get you... More

The food is more rustic Italian than fine dining, the kitchen is bravely exposed even though things aren't exactly going with military precision, and yes it's noisy but as a lone middle-aged diner I was very well looked after and liked the busy atmosphere. Beats sitting in your hotel! I let the cheerful staff pick my cider and wine -... More

Don't be frightened walking down the dingy stairwell to Verve, it's just your gateway to the adorable underground cafe you've been dreaming of. Everything Italian is available for amazing prices.. around the $20-30 mark for most things. Try the goats cheese gnocchi and you will be back for more before you know it. Very crowded and noisy - Suggest non... More

Judging by the street sight we would NEVER have walked down the cellar stairs without a recommendation. However upon receiving one from our Guess scales assistants we booked a table of or two. What a treat, cool atmosphere was superseded by great service and even better food. We shared the Prawn Gamboli and Schnapper and Crab Risotto and a Rocket... More

Walk in down the front stairs and its easy to think that you are in a WWII air raid shelter. Go out to the back alley and you could be excused for thinking that you are in the Bronx. However try the food and you may believe in heaven. I have eaten here about 6 to 8 times now and... More

The menu here is heavily weighted towards pizza, pasta and risotto. We were expecting more from the ad. The decor is quite simple and the bare brick walls do nothing to absorb the noise so the atmosphere is loud. Food was okay. Selection of ciders and beers was great. Overall we were a little disappointed.

Decided to pop into Verve for a late night dinner with the missus. Place was half full at such late hour (~2100) and that helped to create an incredibly nice romantic feel to it. Ordered a couple of dishes to share and among them that was worth mentioning was the dip +bread, excellent dip and excellent bread. Another great dish... More

Living in the inner city i've often walked past the Verve and said to myself "i'll have to check out that place". Now that i have been and experienced it, I hate myself for not popping in sooner. I took the Mrs out for dinner on a Thursday night, wandered into the Verve and got a table right away, it... More

I've dined here a couple of times and stopped by for after-work drinks to sample some of their cider collection. The food is nice italian, not too expensive and there is a reasonable wine list. It is underground and the decor is quite funky. Definitely recommend for dinner or a couple of drinks with friends. I've had the gnocchi which... More

Visited Verve Cafe today with my daughter for lunch. I really enjoyed my experience. Food and service was excellent. A great cider list as well. Only criticism I have is that it is so dark that I actually used the light on my mobile phone to read the menu which was a laugh. Perhaps a torch or table lamp would... More
