I went with a group on a business trip, so it wasn't my choice in the first place. You can tell, just by looking at the menu, that is lacking in healthy eating options and full of pasta and pizza, that this place is really set up for undiscriminating diners. The tables are very basic, not set up nicely or well... Turned up to Verve on a Tuesday night without a booking and was surprised to find they had very limited space (must be a good sign though?). They offered us a table for an hour – not ideal, but we decided to take it. Before we ordered however they managed to rearrange the settings and put us at another table... More

Dined here the other day and ordered the lamb shank gnocchi special. Very tasty and perfect size portion. Priced perfectly and an overall very very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was awesome and they catered for 14 of us. Only complaint was when it came to pay we paid for another table and then had to sort it out ourselves. Other... More

The meals were large and delicious and great value for the price. The venue itself is as noisy as every other reviewer mentioned, but we were in a group making a bit of noise ourselves, so we didn't mind.

Verve is located close to the river area just a little off of the River Walk area. I went there based on a review that praised their risotto. They are also known for their cider, but as I don't drink, I will have to leave that review to someone else. The restaurant is a dive, just like I like. The... More

I dined at Verve last night and enjoyed it enormously. Nestled in the basement, this surprising restaurant had an eclectic, gluten free menu which is both generous and very satisfying. No nonsense service and a good wine list complement one of Brisbane city's nicest restaurants. Located in the quieter end of Edward St, this is a restaurant well worth the... More

We discovered Verve about 12 months ago. It is very different to other restaurants in Brisbane. Located in a basement means it doesn't have natural light but I think this adds to the atmosphere. Our first visit was mid week around 6pm so it wasn't very busy therefore a lot quieter, however we went again recently on a Saturday evening... More

I stumbled across the Verve Cafe a few years ago while looking for a dinner spot in the city - and have not looked back since! It is now my favourite restaurant in Brisbane!! Firstly, it's an underground restaurant with great atmosphere. It does get a bit loud when busy - and it CAN get very busy and popular! I... More

It seems to be a local institution. Kind of low rent basement vibe supporting local art , reminiscent of student hangout but pricier. Good range of ciders, excellent staff. Really good risotto - servings huge! Try the vodka & artichoke or the cheesy one delicious and cheap $ 110 for 3 mains, garlic pizza & 3 drinks

I am new to Brisbane from America and I was looking for Italian food. I eat at Verve once per week. The food is excellent. The beer is very cold. The owner and staff are always very friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable by Australian standards. The location is "rustic" being in a basement with no windows and... More
