Good food and nice setting

Had a very good pizza. The place is underground with no natural light but it is big yet cozy. I arrived early before the crowed and the service was fast and friendly. A good place to eat if you like pizza or pasta. And the side salade had a very nice sauce. Well done.

I attended a dinner and drinks for a friends birthday. The food was good but it was extremely loud and very hot as the restaurant is underground. Most of the staff were really polite and nice, only 2 staff members seemed a bit rude but I was happy with the service overall. Only thing I would change is how they... More

Googled 'quirky bar/restaurants in Brisbane CBD' and came up with this awesome underground eatery in Edward St. Great staff who couldn't be more helpful, a wonderful menu with a large selection of steaks, pastas, pizzas and salads. Fantastic selection of ciders available also. Prices very reasonable. We ate there 2 nights in a row we were so impressed. On the... More

Hidden away, Verve is a funky cafe restaurant serving great food. We arrived without a booking (note:always book in future) and the place was busy. We did manage to get a small table/booth at the back of the restaurant, hidden away. This restaurant is literally in a basement and it felt like it where we were seated - it was pretty... More

I think sitting in a crypt surrounded by proto-hipsters as yet unsure if they can commit to a life of bad facial hair and kale could possibly put most sane people off their food. Not in the case of Verve – it simply adds to the overall weirdness. The atmosphere defies description which is the main reason I am reviewing... More

This restaurant offers great Italian food, located conveniently in central Brisbane. It is in a basement which provides a unique experience, however we fond it very noisy. The food was fantastic, service was friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant if you don't mind a noisy environment.

An odd introduction, and an odd space. It's down a level, which serves to lure you in and then mob you with it's wafts of warmth and fragrance. It is a cave/ cavern like space, with low ceilings and original brick which give it a cosy intimate and modern but aged feel. I loved the art on the walls, all... More

Had a friend recommend the place - at first a little hard to find but just have to look out for the sign on Edward Street. Very dark interior - better for friends or couples - definitely not for family. Ordered the Pork Belly Linguini and Sand Crab & Snapper Risotto. Very interesting tastes - not your typical Italian or... More

Friendly efficient staff. The food and drinks came out really quickly. Calamari was good perfectly, The goats cheese & pumpkin gnocchi is amazing, super rich and creamy. The pumpkin and pine nut pizza is also great, love the thin crispy base. The restaurant is cosy with the low ceilings and exposed beams. I can imagine this place would be super... More

Don't come to Verve expecting fine dining Italian. It is what it is and they are good at what they do - casual cafe style (modern) Italian. The meal sizes are large and I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. Great selection of pasta, risotto and main meals and a couple of nice desserts. The... More
