Description: Zafron has a simple and unpretentious ambience to provide a comfortable...
Zafron has a simple and unpretentious ambience to provide a comfortable social space that features quality and taste. It's raison d'etre is how the cuisine tastes and presents. Only quality ingredients are used and no shortcuts are taken. Everything is hand-prepared fresh by Chef. Zafron has a reputation as a quality venue for large group bookings. Chef's Signature dish for Zafron is her Caspian Chicken. In this East-meets-West dish, Persian ingredients such as pomegranate molasses, pine nuts and Persian saffron contribute to a unique taste with a French-style design. The chicken tenderloins are marinated in Persian pomegranate molasses then pan seared, rolled in crushed roasted pine nuts, breadcrumbs and aromatic spices and baked. The tenderloins are then placed on wilted spinach and caramelised carrots, then dressed with a beautiful saffron white wine sauce and drizzled pomegranate molasses. Only one place on the planet has this dish and it is our most ordered item on the menu! Chef's Tapas Shared Plates are unrivaled for taste and value. Each platter comes with 4 tapas for two persons with a lovely salad garnish. Each tapas and sauce is hand-made.

Interesting food but attitude

We liked the look of this restaurant and booked a table for the following evening. When we arrived the outside dining area was two thirds full but the inside was empty, so we expected good service. By far one of my most favourite restaurants in Brisbane. The owners, Fay and Michael, are very welcoming and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The meals are hearty and value for money with plenty of Middle Eastern flavour. Have eaten here many times and am looking forward to eating here many more.

Beautiful decor and ambience. A bit pricey though. Food is out of this world. I recommend prior reservation as this is a very popular place and usually packed even during week nights. We had just walked in and were lucky to get a table.

Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. This is a favourite restaurant of ours - for intimate dinner for two, dinner with friends or dinner with family. Unfortunately, we don't get there as often as we would like.

We enjoyed our dinner at Zafron but I would recommend diners not choose the banquet. Too much bread and servings of other dishes were not large. I'd definitely go back again though.

I visited here over the weekend for dinner - what a treat. The restaurant is located in trendy New Farm (street parking available but can get busy) and offers a good array of Persian dishes. Prices are quite reasonable considering how busy and popular this restaurant is (expect to pay $25-$30 per meal + $10 for drinks). I could only... More

Amazing food and friendly staff. We came here for many dinners on our trip and I loved all the dishes I had. Family atmosphere in a lovely formal dining restaurant.

Oh how i would marry the chef for her food.... I cant get enough of the caspian chicken and i always have turkish bread on the side to mop up the unbelievable creamy sauce. Nothing but a clean plate left. Never disappointed.

I've been twice and been impressed on both occasions, it's one of my favourite places in Brisbane. It's been very busy on both occasions. Persian food adds a welcome menu to Brisbane's restaurant scene. All of us were pleased with our dishes on both occasions. From memory the sharing platters are really good. The vegetarian options were interesting and tasty... More
