Start with the Beef Rendang

Any future trip of ours to Darwin will involve a bee-line back to this gorgeous source of home-style delicious Indonesian - Malaysian food. It is cooked and served by a group of ethnic ladies who may well have had these family recipes handed down to them. I was pondering which dish to select from... read more

Passed through Darwin recently and took the opportunity to have lunch at the sari rasa. Had not been for years but the food was the same - very tasty and very good value. Had the beef rendang and green beans in coconut milk. Both excellent.

Work mates and myself went to this Indonesian eatery for lunch after being recommended by others and we were not disappointed! You choose dishes from the buffet and I chose the Chilli Chicken, Dry Beef and Indo eggs. The beef and chicken was delicious and very authentic. The chicken was moist and tender in a lovely chilli sauce. Value was... More

A bit difficult to find this restaurant, at the end of shop alley connect Cavenagh St and Lichfield St, but the reward is very delicious food, made by Indonesian born cook. The Beef and Egg Plant Chilli (Dendeng Balado and Terong Balado) with Corn Fritter, served with Plain Rice was really delicious. Currently open for Lunch only between 11 am... More

Well, this is a surprise package! Having walked past this place a few times I thought I'd finally try it. And I wasn't dissapointed. A no frills atmosphere, basic deck out, but who cares about the decor because the food was scrumptious. Lovely curry, lovely service, and you could taste the authenticity. Recommend this little place if you love your... More

Good to see Indo homestyle food. Read the reviews from tripadviser and rush the following day to try it myself. Had the chilli eggs, green beans, veggies, dry chilli beef with potato, chilli eggplant, curry chicken.... One of the best homestyle indo meal in Darwin. Recommend with thumbs up:) But sad they don't open for dinners and weekends.

Sari rasa is a Long-term Darwin mainstay for a good reason. The food is excellent, the family style service is friendly, the restaurant is almost always full with a stream of locals sitting down or buying takeaway. The dry beef, the beans, the fish curry and the chilli eggplant are favourites of many of my colleagues. I recommend Sari Rasa... More

Love this Satay Chicken and so does my family. We always order too much but that's not a bad problem to have. Friendly service too which makes it more welcoming!

Absolutely the best feed you'll get in Darwin. Delicious authentic Indonesian food for a very small price. Take your own wine and enjoy!

I takeaway lunch once a month or so from Sari Rasa and they do seem to have a lot of regulars, the fish and lamb curries are my pick with the sambal egg. Some of the beef dishes are a tad bland for my taste though. The only negative is the rice to meat ratio is a bit mean and... More
