Service was disappointingly poor, food very average, the music and atmosphere good. I would only continue go there for drinks at the bar as the bar staff is better than the waiting staff was not paying any attention to the guests' needs i.e no cutlery after entree and no water top up. We literally had to shout through the room... More

Setting is unusual but comfortable. Service was very good. The food was excellent and very tasty. There was good live music. I would recommend this restaurant.

We went there last night. The setting is nice and comfy although it's certainly not the place for a long conversation as it gets very loud! The service was great, no problem with that at all. The cocktails are great (expensive though, but it's Darwin price I guess) and the live music was terrific, we really enjoyed it. BUT... The... More

We went to Nirvana for dinner last Monday night. There were three of us and we decided to share dishes. We were seated in the front area which is looking fresher and more light than our last visit. Service was attentive without being over the top. Only complaint was that we did have a significant wait between starters and mains.... More

8 if us went for a birthday dinner. The service was very poor. Very bad mannered staff. Food was average large chunks of potatoes instead of fish to act as filler disguised under claggy sauces. There is a wide range of drinks to suit any taste thank goodness as it too the taste of the food away

We went for my cousins birthday, but we have mixed reviews. The meal itself was really good. We had a selection of starters and mains. The one thing letting it down was the service. We had to wait in line for 20minutes to get drinks as there was only 1 person serving, and she had a really poor attitude. I... More

We should have known what was in store. Filthy car park entrance and very dark doorway entry to restaurant. The cigarette burn in my seat was another clue. Friends travelling with us had been here before and suggested it. Order was finally taken by staff member who obviously does not enjoy here job! and not long after food starts to... More

Eight months of working through the Darwin restaurant scene and finally went to Nirvana last night. Wine list is poor. Wife's king prawns served in the shell and not deveined. Looked like they were swimming in milk. No finger bowl eeeww. The Dahl was lifeless and the gado gado was beyond disgusting. The roti was like cardboard. The blond waitress... More

We didn't have a booking when we turned up and had to wait for a few minutes before a waiter came to find us seats. We were led to the back of the restaurant which was in fact a more private space but unfortunately away from the duo playing music at the front of the restaurant. Food was very and... More

A firm favourite of ours, nothing fancy inside to look at. But the food and music can be unreal. Well worth the visit.
