We were hot and tired from traipsing around Darwin and had just visited Parliament house and a early gallery, when we spotted java Spice Cafe. The owner (also the artist of the paintings on the walls) greater us. The place is really interesting in how the decor is laid out and is most welcoming. WIFI is free for the asking.... More

We'd been here several years before when Java Spice was still quite new and we loved it, so thought we'd try it out again on our latest trip to Darwin. We had read the recent mixed reviews but decided to see for ourselves for Sunday breakfast. Walked in & found a table, but none of the staff took any notice... More

Disappointing visit to Java Spice today. We have been many times before but today was disappointing. Not enough staff working as waited for over 20mins to be served. Dirty dishes still on some tables, and the two staff I did see were run off their feet. In the end, we left without being served as we got tired of waiting.... More

My first visit to Darwin, and my friend took me there, I must say I was very impressed, we were given on arrival, a lovely iced water and a very cool face washer soaked in a beautiful lavender oil, so refreshing, there were two gents singing which was lovely and relaxing just to sit and listen to the music...we then... We visited Java Spice for brunch on Saturday and were delighted with this gem right in the middle of the city. From the moment you walk in you begin to appreciate that you are now somewhere up market and classy. To be welcomed with a glass of icy cold water and a chilled towelette was really appreciated. The décor was... More

My family and I recently holidayed in Darwin and were very fortunate to find the Java Spice Cafe just around the corner from where we were staying. It is a beautifully decorated, with excellent service, coffee, cakes and slices. Their Chai Latte were to 'die for'. We found ourselves visiting there on a daily basis. Highly recommend, and we will... More

We went there for tea recently. The ambience is lovely with really nice furniture and décor. The staff were friendly and the goods looked homemade. I had a toasted sandwich that was the best I had ever had, filled with quality ingredients. The crockery is of high quality and they bring you small wet towels on a plate with a... More

I do live the service at Java Spice, customers are greeted with an ICU cold water and chilled towelettes - very welcome in the tropics. Coffee is good, the cakes are excellent and the sandwiches fresh and tasty. A very pleasant interlude in Darwin city
