This resto used to be excellent, when it was in the Central hotel and owned by Indian folk. It has changed hands a few years ago, losing its well earned reputation for quality, But we decided to give it a try in case it had improved. Big mistake. why.- A flat coke, samaosas straight out of a bulk buy box,... More

Darwin now has a nice Indian restaurant. The place is very clean and the food is outstanding. Service was poor and food and wine expensive (compared to all the other Indian restaurants I have dined at). But because of the great food, I will return.

Opted for one of the banquets on the menu. This was at a cost of 60 dollars per person. There was 4 people, we got 4 dishes one rice and some popadoms. Paid extra for naan bread!! Portions are quite small and although the food was good we left feeling disappointed as it was a bit of a rip off!... More

As far as Indian cuisine goes this place is fantastic. If I want to go somewhere for a special occasion such as my birthday this is always my choice of venue. The food is outstanding and the staff are great. They do great lunch specials also and get the food out quick which is good for the short time I... More

This cafe/diner was surprisingly expensive. Not recommended. $27 Butter chicken dish was served on a plain white, almost flat plate. No basmati rice, only jasmine. Cauliflower dish tasted incredibly sweet, much like a sweet and sour pork dish in a gloopy plum sauce. Service was poor: wait staff could not pronounce the dish names, very slow to bring the bill.... This is a simple indian restaurant, the kitchen is small so they cannot offer great varaeties of Indian specailties. Worth a sunday lunch or evening dinner.

I lived in Darwin for 18 months and never once considered coming to this place. However, I needed to just gab a quick takeaway so I could settle in to a night of work. I decided to give Garam Masala a try. I was quite ok with it. Not sensational but it was ok. I did think the dishes were... More

We have eaten Indian food around the world ( including in India) and can say without fear of contradiction that Garam Masala is up there with the best. A true taste sensation. But beware ..on our visit the kitchen closed at 20h30..Make sure you don't miss out.

We enjoyed an Indian meal at garam masala. The food was delicious and the naan was light and beautifully cooked. Our waitress was very attentive and even dished out the rice for us. It was a shame the sparkling white wine was only available by the bottle and not by the glass.
