Best Indian food in Darwin

This is our favourite restaurant in Darwin - we have been here many times and never had a bad meal or service. We have probably tried all the dishes but our favourite would have to be the Chicken 65 and Indian Flag Dips for entree followed by Badami Murg and Butter Chicken Masala. If you like a... read more

Restaurant has good ambience, the staff are friendly and helpful. Having eaten in Indian restaurants all over the world, the food I had was between average and good. There certainly was plenty of it. A smaller portion option would be good. The following simple changes to the menu would improve the dining experience here (especially for solo diners): Allow popadoms... More

Clean, efficient and friendly staff. Great food, freshly served. Really enjoyed it especially the cutlet starter and the Butter Chicken

I have been eating at Saffron for years. Love the food the chilli chicken is my favourite. I was shocked at the poor reviews I've never had a terrible meal. The friendly personal service always makes you feel special when you walk in

I have eaten here a few times - but it's been awhile, and I have to say the food is very disappointing to what it used to be. The entree was a highlight - we had the Madras Buffet - but it was all downhill from there. Very sad as the food used to be exceptional.

After hearing much about Saffron, we decided to give it a try for dinner. I was disappointed with the food. I've had butter chicken many times (it's a favourite) but this is the first time it's tasted more like a vindaloo (it only had the colour of butter chicken). The main dishes that we ordered were too salty for me... More

The service was great! The bread was fantastic - lovely and fresh, but our main course was THE worst butter chicken we have ever encountered. The spices were not cooked out and crunchy and the dish was so bright red not a drop of cream insight - yuck! A nice young man called Raj agreed it was An unusual colour... More

Having lived in Darwin we have been to Saffrron before & it was not good in terms of quality / expectation & value for money. Unfortunately gave it another try tonight & it lived up to the previous experiences- very ordinary & exceptionally expensive for an Indian take away. Ordered rogan josh & a lamb korma. Meat exceptionally tough (nothing... More

I popped into to grab a quick meal and was very impressed with the service, the venue and the selection of food. What I ordered was delicious. I will be back again and recommend to friends.

It has been a while since I have eaten here, but always enjoyed it in the past. Popped in for some take away of butter chicken and a lamb and spinach dish with rice and naan. Lacklustre to say the least. The lamb dish contained very little spinach which was why I ordered it in the first place. Butter chicken... More
