Expensive, even for Darwin

I've been to Il Lido a couple of times for brunch now - once with my partner in April 2013 and a second time with a friend. The first time the food was good but the coffee was absolutely awful - undrinkable in fact. The pancakes are fairly yummy although priced around $17, which seems a bit much... read more

Service was awful, food was miserable, dreadful waste of a great location or maybe a cynical misuse of same. The view did not disguise the paucity and poor presentation of the food.

I've been here several times and the only time I've had a good experience was when my dining companion befriended staff. It has so much potential but fails to live up to even the lowest expectation

I hink I was never sooo appaled about nonexisting service. The stuff was aimless running around and manage to pass our table about 10 times without being able to take a simple order for drinks. The food arrived very delayed and not even together with about gaps of 15 minutes . terrible. One order didn't even make in to the... More

Came here for dinner a while backwith a group, I ordered a chicken ceaser salad with no anchovies. I received lettuce and cheese with 2 breadsticks. When asking where the dressing, chicken, bacon, etc was they told me they thought I was vegetarian so they took anything with meat out??!! Why would I pay such a high price for lettuce... More

The good: lovely location and atmosphere cool outside under the fans and comfortable seating the less good: they had a special on jugs of sangria but they only half filled the Jug! When I asked for a top up they explained that they usually use smaller jugs so that's all we get.... SERIOUSLY?! The service was slow and generally unhelpful... More

Me and my wife has celebrated our anniversary last year. So we decided to do the same this year. It was a mistake. Menue has changed so as cooking quality. The pork belly pizza came awfully sweet sprinkled on top with sugar. It was also thick and soggy. it used to be thin and crispy. The chilly crab linguini was... More

We had a friend up from Melbourne so we thought that we take him somewhere nice in Darwin - it was a mistake. We decided to have the chicken schnitzel for dinner in the lounge section (the Wednesday special) - 1 plain, 1 parmi, 1 spicy chorizo - surely not that hard. First of all an european female waitress came... More

Visited here with family who live nearby - they made sure we ordered from the outdoor bar area menu as opposed to the indoor restaurant as apparently there is a big difference in cost. The food choices were excellent and the meal itself, primarily pizza's and side dishes (fabulous halumi cheese and spring rolls, ribs etc) could not be faulted.... More
