Fish and Chips at Cullen Bay as the sun goes down - they;re not cheap but they're good - licensed, but in the bounds of the restaurant, so you don't get the best views there. But in a quirk of Top End licensing you can buy your fish and chips at La Beach and set up a picnic table on... More

We stumbled across La Beach about a year ago. It is in the most wonderful beachfront setting looking out over the ocean on Cullen Bay and the fish and chips are freshly cooked to order on arrival with fresh fish arriving and being filleted every day. Ask what has just arrived and order that, you won't be disappointed. Jew-fish or... More

Just spent time at La Beach. Had 1/2 chips $3, calamari $5 and 2 scollops which were yummy. Total of $12 very reasonable. Lovely sea breeze. Man serving is one of the kindest people I have ever met. You can't beat the view of Darwin harbour and walk along the promenade is cool and refreshing. Great location and service, cooking... More

What a gem of a restaurant. Casual fish and chips sitting on a balcony with views of Darwin Harbour. Excellent value and large portions quickly served. Worth a revisit.

Overall, I was dissapointed with the quality of seafood places in Darwin given the location & weather. La Beach was expensive for fish & Chips. They were OK but not outstanding. The crumbing option is great but $14.50 for a piece of Barra wrapped in paper is expensive. The venue looked tired, needed a good spring clean & refresh. The... More

For a great night out, take a chair and a bottle of wine and buy some yummy fish and chips from La Beach and watch the sun set.

Great place to grab a parcel of fish and chips and sit and watch the sunset. Because of fires in and around Darwin the sunset was amazing. Fish and chips were average, but come with plenty of lemon. Price seemed a bit on the high side for a piece of Barramundi being $14. however squid rings were good value for... More

Amazing service - wonderful food - the potato cakes were nearly as thick they were high. I am pretty hard to please as far as Seafood goes but this was astounding fare! Loved the choice of Sauces (I think mine was Thai Lime & Black Pepper - delish) available which so complemented the fish. I know the meal is phenomenal... More
