Being in Darwin for the first time my older sister and my brother-in-law encouraged me to go to the restaurant at the end of Marina Boulevard around the corner from the apartment building I was staying in, Cullen Bay. I am so glad I didn't leave it any longer before I went as it is quite a popular restaurant on... More

We chose to eat at La Beach so we could watch a Darwin sunset over the sea. What a location! There is a choice of sitting inside or outside (but fully covered) - we chose the latter, sitting right next to a neatly manicured extensive grassed area which then adjoined the beach and the harbour. The restaurant is heavily patronised... More

This is a casual setting fish and chip shop, no table service but self service, take a number and collect your meal..etc The food itself was basic, nothing special. Chips were slightly undercooked and the grilled barramundi was bland but seeing as the chef looked about 14 years old I'm not surprised! lol Was nice to go once as the... More

I would say that after most all fish and chip experiences my wife and I feel "gross, disgusting, fat, grease logged and regretful." I can honestly say that did not happen at La Beach. Tonight we split a grilled Baramundi and a crumbed Baramundi. The fish itself tasted very fresh and the wife was happy with her healthy grilled fish.... More

Prawn salad, sea front view, glass of wine or beer, good company and you get a fabulous moment. Be aware it is more a fast food than a restaurant style. Enjoy!

This is a restaurant which is really a fast food outlet with very confused décor in varying states of degradation and clutter shoved everywhere. La Beach used to be an ‘up market’ establishment but since the demise of its restaurant role and it’s been reborn as a fish and chip shop with a bar and a decent view of the... More

We had a lovely lunch here today, the owner was very helpful when we were ordering. He recommended the battered fish and it was great, not oily at all. Te prawns were our highlight. Best fish &chips we've had in a long time, possibly ever.

Rang the day before and told them we had very brief stop over in Darwin between flights and were they opened for lunch. Informed definitely opened. Paid $20 for a cab to be informed by the same gentleman he forgot there was a private function and we couldn't eat. Apologised but made no effort to call us another cab to... More

The food here cooked perfectly. If you are after premium fish and chips with a great view this is the place. The chef is friendly and likes to chat with customers. The venue is also child friendly. Be warned this place can get busy best to go early to ensure popular items on menu are not sold out.

Casual place to enjoy the amazing Darwin sunset, great fish n chips and a cold drink. Have been here a few times now and even when it is very busy, meals and service consistently good. Prices are reasonable and it is a nice spot for families to bring a picnic rug, or use existing seating inside or out.
