Taste of Australia

Booked to eat in Arnguli on our first night at Ayers Rock Desert as it was the main restaurant in the Desert Gardens where we were staying. What a feast. Both started with the Tastes of Australia plate which included four tiny tastes of Aussie meats. Started with a crocodile skewer (bit like a... read more

We had eastern at the same place for lunch but the restaurant trades under another name. The service was very good. The wine preference with the meal was spot on. The atmosphere was okay. The food was sensational. We ordered medium rare steaks and the were cooked to perfection. Also desserts were all home made and delicious.

Although there are 3 hotels and a handful of restaurants in Yulara, the only little city close to Uluru'srock, this place has great (refined) food, great service and a nice setting, for dinner. Lunch is done by another shift of people and is a very different story: to be avoided at lunch, then: limited menu and very inefficient service.

The Arnguli Grill is the in-house restaurant at the Desert Gardens Hotel. It had an excellent atmosphere and offered a classy dining experience, with friendly attentive service, views across the garden to the pool, and an interesting menu. Everything we chose was beautifully cooked and delicious, and good bread and an amuse bouche were complementary.

The Arnguli is one of a variety of eating places in what I've already called the tourist trap that is the Ayers Rock Resort complex. They run the gamut from a local IGA grocery store to a do it yourself BBQ and this certainly seems to be the best, at least of those we tried. Over priced like everything else... More

We were looking for a different place to eat when we came upon the Desert Gardens hotel. We knew it was a high end restaurant just by the way the tables were laid out and the atmosphere of the room. I can honestly say it serves the most amazing food I have ever had. The presentation of the food on... More

After reading trip advisor reviews we decided we must make a reservation for Arnguli Grill during our stay in Yulara. The decor and layout of the restaurant was perfect. A nice design with local artwork and beautifully presented tables. The waiting staff were very attentive. Ensuring we were happy with our food and checking if we needed more drinks. During... More

I honestly wouldn't have thought that a resort in the middle of nowhere had such a brilliant restaurant! Wines, food and service can compete with every high-end restaurant in big cities! Highly recommended!!

Have read a lot of reviews on this restaurant and you would have to be stupid not to take note that lots of customers are complaining about the price Yes we know it would have to be dearer being so far out in the outback but it is ridiculously overpriced . And the food was nothing to write home about... More

We knew this was going to be a pricey tea (steak $40-60). So we made sure we were in the mood to enjoy a lovely dinner and this place did not disapoint!! If the salted caramel ice cream is an option DO IT, even when you are full, you will be, eat the ice cream!! A lady behind us got... More
