Serve yourself Bbq

Casual dining. A nice change from having your meal served up. Buy the uncooked meat, fish, chicken, vege burger at the Pioneer Bbq Servery and cook it as you would like it done on their bbqs. Bread rolls, butter and sauces available along with a good selection of salads and several hot veges... read more

I want to the Outback Pioneer Bar and Grill after the Australian Outback Marathon and had a self-cooked steak that was one of the best I have ever eaten

Relaxed and informal and great to be able to cook your meat just the way you like it with salad and apple crumble with custard. If only the plates were a little bigger!

The Pioneer BBQ and Bar was a festive place. It had a nice communal feel where people from all parts of the globe were enjoying each other's company. The food was also delicious! The hamburger was one of the BEST I have ever had and the options in the salad bar were also tasty, fresh, and satisfying. Tip - pick... More

Quick service, easy & relaxed eating. Bench style seating so we had some great chats to fellow travellers, the best way to pick up little hints is to chat to others. The burgers are huge, with very fresh produce & the beers are ice cold.

For a cook-your-own-steak place I was expecting a good salad bar. It was disappointing, very average; not good value. The one dessert (some fruit crumble) was awful, inedible. The ambiance and fellowship among fellow travellers saved the day.

Great Australian atmosphere. Cook your own steak is a great idea, saves waiting and wondering wheres your meal. Great backpackers accom. International tourists enjoy our outback as they cook their own. Drinks very pricey to take away , however, it is for a reason and good to see it being done responsibly .

The night we ate here was freezing cold and the lines were really long and it took ages to get our food, although the food was quite good once we got it. Not the best value for money, I think the buffets are better value for families, but for singles this might be a great option
