And now for a complete contrast

We went to the Pioneer Outback Kitchen for lunch as we wanted a lighter, simpler snack than was available in our hotel at Ayers Rock Resort. We both opted for the calamari and chips with diet coke. It was - alright. Very few calamari rings, and a greater emphasis on the chips, but this was ok as it... read more

Just brilliant. Buy the food of your choice and get on and cook it as you like it. Great salads and accompaniments. Fantastic atmosphere with live music as well. A great evening.

The "local" hang out, for visitors, staff on leave and guest for every other resort at Ayers Rock. Options for food, pizza, snacks, BBQ options, but you got to cook it yourself !! Excellent steak sandwich was enjoyed outside under the stars, with like minded people around having a good time.

I had the BBQ & that was good value for money particularly using the Accor card - receiving half price off the meal. I ad the Barra & the kids had fun helping me cook it. There was a fast food window too, the chicken nuggets & chips were not that good. Pizza's looked okay & seemed okay priced.

Probably the best deal around Ayers Rock Resort for dinner. You pick your meat, barbecue it and complete your meal with a salad buffet. There is music most of the time in the bar area and it is just a fun experience and a great way to unwind after a long day touring the area.

You choose the meat and then cook it on their large BBQs they do give you timings and you do get a chance to cook some wildlife as it were. Steak is Available if you prefer. Beer well priced and there is entertainment.

It was a real treat to go to the Pioneer in the middle of the day when we weren't touring to enjoy an ice cold beer while the kids played in the air-conditioned games room!

One of the more casual spots in the giant tourist trap that is Ayers Rock Resort, the choice of proteins to buy and grill was limited. The steak was thin, mediocre and expensive and the salad bar was abysmal but I was hungry.

Great salad bar to go with your choice of meat or fish. Cook it yourself and then have some apple crumble for dessert. Yum. Great semi outdoor dining experience. casual and fun
