14 September 2009. Took overseas visitors here to taste "bush tucker". Service was terrible. Asked for bottle of wine and 4 glasses,after 30 mins wine arrived +2 glasses and no water as asked for. Had to get the other two glasses, water and water glasses ourselves after waiting and waiting and more waiting from the bar! Kangaroo fillets well done... more

Food was yummy. Ambiance was good. Didn't need a reservation, which was nice. Price wasn't too bad. Service was okay. Servers didn't really know the menu, or kitchen options. Worth a try. more

Ochre is a long standing favourite, particularly on a hot and humid day in Cairns, when it is a relief to collapse on one of the banquette seats under the airconditioning, and study the menu with its daily specials and decent wine by the glass. Intended to have a quick, good lunch. Waited for an hour for 2 small meals to be served (restaurant was half empty). The quality of the Pizza was shocking, the one of the Eggs Benedict was alright.
