An excellent restaurant to eat typical dishes of Outback

The Overlanders Steakhouse is a typical restaurant in Alice Springs, where you can taste some typical dishes of Australian Outback. I recommend you a lot a bit taste of crocodile, emu, kangaroo and camel (obviously, if you enjoy to taste new dishes!); and I recommend you the desserts. Moreover... read more

I will never go to the overlander again. The service was pathetic and I waited for 40 minutes for a meal and then it was not what I ordered. The décor was tacky and the waiters and waitresses were not a reflection of happiness. It reminded me of Faulty Towers (The John Cleese comedy) Do yourself a favour and go... More

Recommended as an interesting setting especially with family from US. Very friendly wait staff. Great variety on menu, food was fantastic, after mains served, very long wait for dessert menu, then served quickly. Certainly a unique venue and worth a visit.

What a great opportunity to taste Kangaroo, Crocodile, Emu and Camel all in one meal. Not to mention the starter soup, large 250g steak (or you can choose Barramundi) and the Apple Pie. Don't eat lunch as there is so much delicious food. The restaurant has a great Aussie vibe to it and well worth having a drink and chatting... More

I'm an alice springs local and finally got around to visiting the Overlander with a large group. What a great surprise! The food was sensational, with a huge variety. The service staff were very thoughtful and professional and the building itself is an attraction. We will not only be going back as locals on our own but definitely bringing interstate... More

I have been to the Overlanders Steakhouse as I was dreaming about a good steak while I was in Alice. When I got there I first have been surprised by the restaurant decoration: animal skins nailed on the wall, some old "outback stuffs"hanging from teh ceiling probably to make you fill lie in an old roadhouse in the middle of... The food was well cooked and tasted nice, but considering the prices I expected to leave with the thought of "Damn that was tasty!". It didn't happen. Nice atmosphere, but please turn on the air conditioning.....meat sweats anyone? I probably would recommend this place, but with the caution of order one meal, one drink and get your dessert from somewhere... More

We had a taster menu and the starter soup was packet soup with lumpy powder bits in it. The main course fish wasn't great either. The dessert almost tasted bought in freezer quality. Wouldn't go back waste of money. Nice coaster postcards though.

My wife and I were in Alice for 2 nights prior and 1 night post a safari to Uluru. On our first night our Ibis Hotel reception staff recommended the Overlander and we took her advice. Good decision. The Mrs enjoyed the excellent beef ribs whilst my lamb shanks were superb. The NT beer was also superb, I suggest you... More
