Good old friend

We did visit the Thai Nesia quite often, but had not been back from a few years. With friends in town, we decided to to back to this old favorite. The food is still fantastic, fresh and reasonable priced. We tried the Thai Fish Cake, Steamed Half Shell Scallop with a beautiful marinade, the Pad... read more

This place is always buzzing and you can see why - great service, tasty authentic Thai dishes, and good value for money. It's also BYO and there's a handy bottle shop pretty much next door!

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly service, relatively inexpensive, and great Thai food. Who could ask for anything more. Amongst dishes we have loved, we recommend the silken tofu and the satay skewers, the crispy salmon salad and the chargrilled wagyu beef salad, the pad prik khing salmon, the holy basil salmon and rich red curry prawns, the massaman beef curry, duck curry,... Went with a friend to try some Thai food, which there are many Thai restaurants in this town. No reservations, but were given a table quickly. There is no alcohol served, people bring their own alcohol to the premises. My entree was dull and tasteless-chicken with cashews. My dinner companion had the pumpkin chicken curry, now that was a perfectly... More

WE have been eating here for years - a small delightful place - great staff and a wonderful chef - "Bill"- the food is so good and authentic - a little spicy for some but mention that and they will control the spice - the scallops are to die for as is the duck - but we have never had... More

Very busy restaurant and we are lucky to get a table. Love the coconut based soup! The peanut curry is good too. The bitter lemon drink is fresh and interesting

We were looking for a quick meal after the movies and came across this busy little restaurant. Once we got in we discovered it is a gay mecca, which was fine by us. Had the prawns in betel leaf which was yummy, followed by chili basil stir fried duck, which was good and didn't hold back on the chili. With... More

Solo diners often have difficulty getting a table in busy restaurants, so on a Saturday night with the place packed with lively groups it didn't look hopeful. Anyway I was welcomed and sat at a table, saying I might have to wait a little while. Almost immediately a table was prepared and the menu arrived. I opted for some steamed... More

What serendipity to find this place. Reviews we read indicated that people went back and back... After one adventure into the exquisite, delicate, unusual marriages of flavor among the dishes of Thai Nesia, I can't wait to return. It has sort of spoiled other Thai restaurants for me. It is just superb. Damn, that I live so far away from... More

If you haven't been to the brilliant Thai Nesia yet do yourself a favour and make a booking. Chef Billy, the delightful June, fantastic Jamie and the team will make sure you have a great night. The food is fresh and fabulous the venue warm, happening and inviting and the service faultless. Make sure you try the Betel leaf and... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighborhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
