Great japanese restaurant in the center of Sydney. The varieties in the assortment of nigiri sushi are many and flawless, the tempura is balanced, tonkatsu pork loin is tasty and filling. The service is friendly and the value for money is good. The most of asian customers try the hot pot: to be recommended for those who want to get... More

My wife and I went there for dinner on a Monday night. It located at the basement, and there was no clear sign at the stairs leading to the restaurant. Even though it is Monday night, the restaurant was quite full. It is suggested to make prior reservation in order to avoid waiting. We tried the hotpot and sushi. Both... More

Service: Was good and bad. Some waiters didn't have any idea about drink recommendations to match food which in my opinion is vital at a high class Japanese restaurant. However the Matradee was very accommodating and got us a table instantly (restaurant was packed). The bartender certainly knew his craft. We ordered: Fatty Tuna, Salmon, Scampi, prawn sashimi The $150... More

We have been going back Masuya many times over past five years. The quality of the food has always been good and consistent. The menu has a variety of choices. The special sashimi platter was fresh and delicious. The deep fry Hokkaido scallops is my favourite dish. It has always crispy yet tender and juicy inside. In terms of service... More

Japanese food is in abundance in Sydney, and while my previous evening's dinner at Shiki was excellent albeit fairly expensive, lunch at Masuya was at the other end of the scale on both counts. Actually that's not strictly accurate as spending the best part of 40 bucks on a bento box and glass of iced green tea probably isn't the... More

The service at the restaurant was good. Served authentic Japanese food, but a bit on the pricey side.

Highly recommend this restaurant. The hot food here is better than their sushi. The grilled salmon is really good, it used the fin part, which has much more oil than the other of it. Come with your friend, then you can try the amazing hot pot together.
