Scrumptuous food

Best Japanese restaurant and the seafood is brilliant. I tried the nigiri sushi, and Nanben Chicken which was simply devouring.

This underground restaurant does great japanese food. Service was quick and friendly and they have an extensive menu. Our sushi platter was amazing with a huge range of stuff on it. The eggplant dish we had was a highlight and our vege tempura had just the right level of batter on it. A good range of beers and some nice... More

We went a couple of nights ago. Our friends who live here love this place... And we know why! The food was delicious. We watched boats and hot pots go by but my husband had sushi and I had prawns that were amazing! My friend who eats no seafood loves the teriyaki chicken. The place is cute and clean... A... More

We made a reservation for Wednesday evening. Service in the beginning was a bit slow, however once we ordered the food came nicely throughout the evening. There is a lot of choice and we went for the shared options. The chicken teriyaki is a must. Food was great, ambience good. I would recommend and would come again.

First time at Masuya, called ahead to reserve a table for 2 but still had to wait a while for seating. It's a small basement restaurant so it's very popular with a range of diners and very busy. Ordered the salmon & avocado sushi, grilled wagyu and pork tonkotsu with rice. The mains came with mash and some beans, simple... More

Masuya offers excellent quality food, which is closest to authentic Japanese food that I have had outside Japan. The sushi is beautifully laid out and the fish is fresh and tasty. Also gyozas were good. We went here several times during our stay in Sydney and I would recommend this restaurant for couples, families and small groups.

Unfortunately the quality of the seafood and service has dropped a lot. The sashimi boat contained a lot of chewy and even stringy fish. It's not a good sign when I have to reserve a portion of my plate to spit out the tough bits of sashimi. Didn't even finish all of it, which is unusual for me.

The sashimi was beautifully fresh and presented in a fun way with the boats. Delicious food, good value wine list, fun mock tails for the kids. Lovely atmosphere friendly and attentive service. Top marks

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
