We chose this restaurant as it was rated highly (no. 5 in Sydney) and it didn't disappoint. The service was fantastic, the food beautiful and the restaurant itself was quaint and rustic. The scallops were the tastiest I've ever had and the strawberry and rhubarb souffle was sublime. All this at very reasonable prices.

I've tried a lot of French places in Sydney, being French myself. So many are overrated and average. This one us a total HIT. The food is super good and creative. The staff is really genuinely friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for going with friends family or in couple. Not loud, not snobby. Relaxed. I LOVE IT !

Fantastic, friendly service, cosy restaurant with a lovely courtyard out the back, and perfectly cooked duck. Definitely one of my favourite Sydney restaurants.

What a wonderfully, charming place this is. We walked in without a reservation and were lucky to get the last table at the front, overlooking Bourke Street. The waiting staff were knowledgeable, attentive and warm. The menu is select, without being too extensive or ostentatious. We kicked things off with a lovely Kir Royal followed by oysters. The scallops were... More

Just been to a Sunday movie and looking for somewhere to eat. Warm welcome from staff was great start, and the night just got better. Beautiful French food, we chose a couple of the daily specials and finished off with some wonderful deserts. Could have been in Paris, thankyou Le Pelican

I was there for a very large family function and it was fantastic and very welcoming. I would recommend this place for any type of dining experience ie... More

We've been coming to Le Pelican since it opened. It has never failed me. Large groups, intimate dinners, mates dinners and client entertainment - I have done them all. The food is distinctly French with regular interesting changes and specials. The wine list has a large selection from France including bio-dynamic earthy wines. Staff are friendly and not over-attentive. Lunches... More

What a lovely treat, We were here last Sunday for a wine-tasting three course lunch. With a little cosy room at the front and a lovely courtyard at the back I could believe we had been transported to France. Delightful French staff and chef and delicious well-executed food - what more could you ask? Try it - you will enjoy!

Imagine a Sydney chef, in a little Surry Hills restaurant, putting on a 7 course detestation of his favourite all-time recipes from the leading chefs in France and Spain and delivering on every dish to the highest standard. Well, this year Jean-François of Le Pelican delivered a Christmas and New Year menu treat that would be hard to beat anywhere... More

We visited this restaurant based on the highly positive recommendations from trip advisor. Our mid-week experience did not match the high standards obviously experienced by others. The scallops were overpriced at $5 each for something simple and plain. The pâté was bland, the lamb we ordered was tough, as was the duck and any accompanying flavours were not what the... More
