Went there tonight for a birthday dinner à deux. Lovely staff and great bistro ambiance. But, despite all the rave reviews, at this price point I expected better. We shared a cheese platter for a starter and found the choice of cheeses pretty bland. The duck dish as well as the suckling pork were very well prepared, but the combination... More

Set in a lovely sandstone room, Le Pelican attracts a dedicated clientele but to order a Rib Eye steak which was as tough as old boots did little to coerce a return from this diner. At $40, I expected much better.

good restaurant in an old colonial sandstone building. Eating in the courtyard out the back is nice. Service is attentive and excellent and the menu is interesting, changes regularly, and decent value.

Lunch today totally amazing each course was a taste sensation, I have not experienced a restaurant where each course was better than the one before, the finale of black truffle ice cream was unbelievable this restaurant is worth visiting. Service was very good the ambience lovely hard to believe the city was just beyond the front door.

From start to finish, Le Pelican was absolutely splendid. It's tiny, cosy and snug - totally charming. Service was fantastic and the food and wine was tip top. To start we had the fresh anchovies - which featured in my dream the very same evening, they were THAT good - and the pate de fois gras; for the main we... More

We chose this restaurant as it was rated highly (no. 5 in Sydney) and it didn't disappoint. The service was fantastic, the food beautiful and the restaurant itself was quaint and rustic. The scallops were the tastiest I've ever had and the strawberry and rhubarb souffle was sublime. All this at very reasonable prices.

I've tried a lot of French places in Sydney, being French myself. So many are overrated and average. This one us a total HIT. The food is super good and creative. The staff is really genuinely friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for going with friends family or in couple. Not loud, not snobby. Relaxed. I LOVE IT !

Fantastic, friendly service, cosy restaurant with a lovely courtyard out the back, and perfectly cooked duck. Definitely one of my favourite Sydney restaurants.
