Great Japanese local that does an excellent set menu lunch special, miso soup, Sushi, a hot dish, small salad, some fruit and glass or wine or tea for $12.80..Apart from that they have an extensive menu and do fresh sushi and sashimi each day. Run by very enthusiatic young Japanese team. Nothing flash in atmosphere but genuine good food and... More

Certainly the best value Sushi place I've seen in Sydney. If you're after a good feed, generous portions and a reasonably priced bottle of beer, you can't go wrong.

I stayed around the corner and wandered out in search of a bite to eat. Very nice sushi platter and great miso soup. They cheerfully replaced some sushi I couldn't eat because of an allergy (my error - I I forgot to exclude crab as well as prawn).

Produce seems to always be fresh, confirmed by certain items not being available at every visit. Staff always friendly. A little bit on the expensive side for lunch.

You can't go past the lunch special for $12.80. Miso soup, Sushi and Sashimi and a good serving of teriyaki or karage chicken, served with rice. Great value for fresh food!

When we arrived we were a bit scared at this is a small place, the menu look worn out, the decoration is very poor but once you start seeing your food coming to the table, you forget about all this. Sashimi were fresh and nice. The quality is very very good and everything we at was very tasty. We will... More

I went to Hamachi-Ya with a friend a few nights ago as we felt like some Japanese food. It is a very informal dining place and probably more like cafe than a restaurant. Service is always very attentive there. We opted to have the huge sushi and sashimi boat and then I had the yakisoba. The boat is wonderful -... More
