Lovely food, variety of flavours and good service

We started with the dips, then some calamari, a large octopus, lamb...we have to have lamb in a Greek food, and finally some beef. We all left well fed, wrapped up with a couple of drinks and no more than your average cost for a meal. The service was good all night long. We had a show afterwards... read more

We were recommended by a local, Saturday Lunch and it was only moderatly busy - i'd bet its full weekdays. The waiter recommended a few of the Lamb dishes, but I opted for a seafood trio - absolutly fabulous greek chargrilled flavours. My wife had lamb, a big serve so I got to try that too. It was delicious, tender... More

I visit the Athenian every time I am in Sydney!! Meals are a delicious and the quality is consistent. The service staff are attentive and you never have to wait very long for your meal to arrive. There is an extensive wine list and lots of delicious meals to choose from.

We spotted this restaurant on a casual stroll around the area. The service was very good and very attentive. The staff were only too please to assist with menu selection based on the information we provided. The food was simply excellent. Fresh produce and very good flavours for the dishes. We were pleasantly surprised at the character of the Greek... More

A get-together for four colleagues in Athenian Greek Restaurant was a good choice. My roast lamb choice was so tasty but too big and I ended with more food in my belly than I should have. I traveled to Greece twice and have a sort of knowledge what the food looks like. This was a genuine replica from there.

I have not been to the Athenian for a while now so decided to have dinner there with a friend. Even the complimentary bread had not changed. I chose the fried calamari with chips and salad which used to be my favourite dish when I ate there regularly. It came out exactly as I remembered! Beautifully fried calamari, hand cut... More

Both of us had the roast lamb and it was both huge and fantastic. Very tender with no game taste. Service was attentive. Great value as the dinners were only $27 AUD

The tzatziki dip, calamari and olives starters were excellent. As were the seafood trio platter with grilled octopus, fish and king prawns. We also had their famous slow roasted lamb which was very tender but abit fatty. I would highly recommend it for a nice family dinner.

This place has always been a very popular and busy restaurant with authentic Greek food and family, or should that be family and food? I've been a regular visitor for many years and have enjoyed the experience each time. The father is still getting up at 3 in the morning to buy the fresh food, the sons are still showing... More
