First and foremost, get the Beer Battered Chips with Aioli ($8). Funnily enough they've taken the local famous off the official menu replaced it with chips and mustard. No. Just get the aioli. Blue Gum is a step up from 'the standard pub fare' in the area. Meals here are fresh and fun. Honourable mentions to the Mushroom Burger ($16)... More

My partner and I have dinner at the Blue Gum about once a month. We always have the grass fed scotch fillet (medium rare) with beer battered chips. Sometimes it is glorious. Sumptuous and tasty. Every 3rd time or so it is a disaster. Sometimes a medium rare steak comes out blue. Sometimes the steaks are more fat than meat.... More

I have celebrated birthdays, Melbourne Cup's, dinners, lunches and more nights than i can remember at the Blue Gum, mainly because the food is great (steak), the service is always quick and seems to attract a decent crowd. Will be back again.. and again..

It has been years since i have been to the Blue Gum hotel and boy has it changed! Gone is the rough workers pub, replaced by a lovely place to catch up with friends for lunch or dinner. The quality of the food is above average in my experience for Sydney hotels and pretty reasonably priced. The only downside was... More

6 of us dined recently on a very busy Saturday night. I had booked the table on line the night before with a request to sit within a certain area. I was phoned early the next day with confirmation of the booking. On arrival to the Hotel our table was exactly what we had asked for so a good start... More

Enjoyed the great surrounds of one of Sydney's most famous watering holes. A very pleasant ale followed by a majestically cooked steak topped off an outstanding evening. The pub has a wide variety of beers and ales to choose from.

This place is your typical local suburban pub. Noisy when crowded. Drinks & food priced ok for what it is. No good if only with small group-too noisy.

An order at the counter and pick up your meal when buzzed. Good atmosphere and most of your usual meals are offered. The cook your own steak is offered but I rarely choose that option. I'll do that on my own BBQ if I wanted to cook. Drinks from the pub bar so beverages are well catered for.
