June 6th we enjoyed a relaxed dinner at the Lord Nelson Hotel. The upstairs dining room was very warm and inviting. The dining menu and wine menu were nice, and not complex. Something for each of us. Our granddaughter enjoyed the ribeye steak, my husband the lamb and I ordered roast chicken. We chose a nice Pinot Noir and Cab... More

Small interesting menu and large very good wine list. Spanish anchovies in tin with toast really hit the spot and mild fish curry Also good. Quiet part of town but worth hunting out.

We arrived from US at 630am. After getting settled in our room (which we got EARLY at the Marriott!), we headed out to explore on foot. We walked for hours and finally stumbled upon Lord Nelson Hotel; the oldest hotel in Sydney. We were ready for beer, food and a rest. The atmosphere was PERFECT! A busy pub with a... More

The old British pub at it's best! We were told about this being an attraction to see, and it didn't disappoint, beer made on site and all natural, no preservatives...beautiful, the meal a simple fish and chips but lots of other choices on the menu. Sit back and take in the history that surrounds you.

My hostel roommates and I chose to walk here for a few beers late at night, due to finding out how historic it is. It was well worth the walk! It's beautiful from the outside! The inside looks old and rustic, as expected. I tried a couple of their house brews and had a nice time there. The restrooms could... More

Great atmosphere, really terrific beers brewed on premises, scrumptious Pork Pies served with chutney and hot mustard. All in a fascinating part of old Sydney.

Great pub which serves meals and brews it's own beers and cider which they let you go in and see the process, great vibrant pub which can be very busy and difficult to get a table but well worth the wait! It is set in the oldest part of Sydney but within easy walking distance.

The Lord Nelson pub downstairs brews its own excellent beers, ranging from 4 to 8% alcohol. It claims to be the oldest hotel in Australia, and certainly the building is convict-built, and attractive. And there are no pokie machines! Lots of atmosphere. less well-known is the brasserie upstairs, which serves excellent food. Tuesday nights they have a good range of... More
