Curry Night.

We ended up here on a Tuesday night which is the curry night. While we were looking forward to more pub food, we thought that we would do the curries They were delicious. We had entrée of bug tail curry - it was sooo nice, but at $21 for one bug tail about the size of a king prawn, was... read more

I am new to Sydney, so I have been looking for local spots to settle into. Lord Nelson's is just that! The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating for their guests. I had a rather large group and did not make a reservation, but the staff helped us to move tables around so we could all be comfortable and they... More

This was generally nice experience staying at Lord Nelson's Hotel. We even had dinner twice in the pub, which we really enjoyed. I have to say that staying there near the bar is not disturbing in any way. We were there during ANZAC day (and I must say that is one of the busiest bars I ever saw in any... More

We caught the train down from Newcastle with friends, who had been here previously, to have lunch and some of the excellent, brewed on-site beers, in the bar at this historic old sandstone pub. The food was delicious- we had the beef pie, steak burger and Singapore noodles in the group. Good pub grub- tasty, well prepared and presented. And... More

If you want to visit historic sites in Sydney and get a beer in the process, this is the place for you!! Established in 1798, it is loaded with charm. With hardwood floors that just may be original to the detailed hand-cut stone work, your visit will be a walk back in time. The beer is great too! With dozens... More

We took visiting overseas friends to the historic Lord Nelson for modern Australian food. You can eat at the bar downstairs or as we did the brasserie upstairs. The food was of a high standard and we really enjoyed trying out the boutique beer. The quail can be recommended and the cheese platter was really good. They have a nepalese... More

We were strolling through the Rocks on Australia's national day in January, and we had planned to eat at a restaurant there. However, we were looking for a place to have pre-dinner drinks and we came across this pub, generating a lot of energy and positive vibes inside. Excellent bar scene and a lot of options to choose from, especially... More

Went here with friends from Sydney and really enjoyed it. Five of us had a quiet table upstairs. The fish special, lamb and ravioli were all good. Great atmosphere, especially downstairs, which was bustling on a Friday night, And good draft beers! While it's hisotric and in the Rocks area, we would not have found it on our own and... More
