On the flight up from Melbourne I flicked through the weekend Australian magazine and saw an article announcing Fish Head as the best seafood in Australia. We arrived in Sydney around lunchtime so I quickly googled, managed to get us in for lunch and jumped in a taxi destined for Double Bay. We shared a sashimi plate, fish curry and... More

Fish Face was informality with style. Watching the sahimimi chef was a bonus.the cuttle fish was superbly prepared and served. I had crispy wild Kingfish, excellent. The deserts were tempting and the banana and passion soufflé was memorable. The toilets have fabulous fish wall paper to brighten your visit😀 Perhaps investing in an automatic door closing device would help as... More

went to the new Fish Face at double Bay for lunch the other day, we wanted to have a long leisurely lunch in comfortable seating, however, at lunch they only open the front of the restaurant, its just like being in the old Darlinghurst restaurant. the food & service are still brilliant, but, its just not that comfortable.we asked some... I have eaten at Fish Face for many years even prior to the Steve Hodges taking over after his stint at Pier at Rose Bay. Today was the first time my wife and I have eaten at the new location at Double Bay. I have read the comments following their re-location from Darlinghurst and unreservedly compliment them on their performance.... More

The restaurant was extremely busy and therefore the service very slow. Whilst extremely delicious there is no excuse for the entre to be seved cold. The main was served hot, phew, and also extremely delicious. But given the prices, very pricey, and the poor service, I doubt I will be back.

We booked for a Saturday night in the restaurant. My favourite dish at their previous location was the King Prawn Omelette (which you can now only get at the front bar. I'll be going back to have it). We ordered entrée, main and desert and were delighted by all 6 dishes (plus hand cut chips). Our fish main courses were... More

We went for lunch on Monday and I think judging from the other reviews that is a great time to go. I'm glad I did not read the reviews before I went as I definitely would not have gone. The service was great and the food delicious. It was quite empty and the staff were relaxed and helpful. I can... More

We were recommended to dine here by colleagues that spent a few years in Sidney and though the location has changed, everything was superb. There is definitely a cool vibe to the room and the service spot on with an attitude edge that you would expect. Aka they are only going to engage you if you have something intelligent to... More

Fish Face Double Bay was a big let down. I ordered the fish and chips. The batter was heavy and over cooked, the chips were standard at best and to add insult to injury it was served in a cardboard cone. Last time I checked you could get this exact meal, but better, at the beach and for half the... More

We booked this restaurant to enjoy our last night in Sydney with family. Turning up 10 minutes early we were sent away as our table wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. So we left with a promise that they would call to let us know when it was ready. 40 minutes later we again called them to be advised that... More
