A wonderful location with views across the bay to the Anzac bridge. In the darkness we even witnessed 3 Sydney row boats gliding at speed past the restaurant and with the backdrop of the city lit up it's a memorable view. I've been coming to the Boathouse on and off for the last decade and my last visit was 2 days ago. The standards are still high, service is still excellent, wait staff are fantastic and the food is fresh, well made, seasonal and presented beautifully. Flavours are subtle and complex. To me, this is a secret restaurant "off the beaten... More

Contrary to some other reviews we were promptly met, shown to our table and asked if we wanted water. Both water and our pre diner drink appeared soon after. During the course of our meal our waitress was attentive and knew her wines and her oysters. The oysters were very fresh and for the main the fish pie is ,of course,superb.A... More

This restaurant was our location for the last supper before we departed for blighty & what an excellent choice this turned out to be. We had a table by the window with a fabulous view of the city & a full moon that made it even more special. We started with a selection of Oysters which were fabulous going on... More

If you're in Sydney, get a water taxi to the restaurant, perfect way to some parts of the city. We love this restaurant, specially for the fish pie and the oysters. We took our kiwi friends and they had other dishes and they were superb as well. Don't miss this brilliant restaurant

I first went to The Boathouse in January 2009 and was blown away. I hadn't been to many great restaurants previously as I was only 21. Six years later and I have just had my 5th visit, I have been to many more nice restaurants in other cities and countries. The Boathouse is still my favourite. The location feels remote... More

My husband took me here for my birthday last year, and again for dinner this year. The food, ambience and experience was fantastic - bar the slow & dull wait staff. We were seated by a grumpy older gentleman, offered water then had to literally hail down a waiter 15 mins later to place an order for drinks and food.... More

My partner and I have - since 2009, booked this special place for birthdays and anniversaries. We visited yesterday with expectations of being spoilt by food, service and seating, as that has always been our experience. Seating is still 10/10! Food 8/10! But service is now 5/10. I hate to say it but we were let down by being visited... More

The Boathouse is a truly marvellous place to eat out. We requested a water view table with our reservation to find that ALL tables have a water view. We took a short ride in a taxi to get there but we found that there is a light rail station close by and we saw other people arriving by water taxi.... More
