There's always a long queue outside this place. I guess it caters to homesick Asian students but was surprised to find many local Australians in the queue. Food is OK but way overpriced. It's interesting to see the young Chinese guys flipping the dough cos in Asia, it's usually done by Indians.

This restaurant always has a queue out the front for good reason. It has a simple malaysian style menu, rich with flavours. They serve no alcohol - so if you like a beer with your curry - bring it with you! Fresh made ROTI was incredible with 2 dipping sauces and the lamb curry melted in the mouth. Busy, noisy,... More

Lots and lots of salt in the food, good for young people who don't mind that aspect I guess. Prices are pretty good.

The roti and the fried rice are pretty average, definitely not worth the long wait. Having said that, I come from Malaysia which might be the reason I find the food average.

This is a small restaurant and it gets REALLY busy but it was recommended to us for quality roti and we were not disappointed! We figured out ourselves the first night that it was popular by the queue outside waiting for opening time. So the following night we planned an early dinner. There was a group of us and we... More

Having eaten at Mamak a dozen or so times, I can safely say that it has never disappointed. The food is amazing (Try the Butter Roti with the Satay Chicken) and the drinks are good too (I usually get the iced tea). The food comes out quickly and staff are friendly. Good location. Be warned, there is usually a line... More

On Goulburn st. closed to Chinatown, Hay market u will see people line up to get table in this restaurant every night. They are showing how they make a fresh roti for customer in the front window. This Malaysian restaurant service you very testy food, fast service and reasonable price. I always enjoy the " Tissue roti" a very thin... More

This is good food at great prices. The rotis are excellent and the curries are good too, though as our group agreed some are more outstanding than others (that is what happens when some elements are that good) - this just makes it better to share with a few. The line of people waiting for a table moved relatively quickly... More
