I booked a table for 11 for afternoon tea - first they told me that this would require a deposit which I was quite willing to provide. When they sent me the confirmation form I was told that full payment was required 7 days before the booked date. I was not told of this upfront. If I had been I... More

I have always wanted to go for high tea to the tearoom, queen Victoria building..I was not let down, selection of tea and a great array of sandwiches, tarts, slices etc..I was glad that my future daughter in laws brides maids picked the QVB, hoping to take tea there again soon

A refined experience in classic décor. On the top level at the Bridge end of the historic Queen Victoria Building. Good for a treat and afternoon "High" tea.

Tea, cakes and sandwiches were very nice, but service was way below average for a place that aims to be perceived as "high end". Waiters were busy, not too friendly and didn't add any value to the overall experience.

The tea selection was wonderful. The tea was brewed wonderfully, into a fragrant and flavourful drink (though the temperature a little too cool for my liking, but that's a personal preference). The selection of scones, sandwiches and cakes are all very tasty and the amount of food quite filling. The service was also excellent, with very attentive staff. As for... More

I went for the traditional afternoon tea with my sisters and my mum. There's a wide variety of tea to choose from and they provided a refill of hot water but the food was incredibly disappointing. Scones were great but you were only given 1 each. Most places give you at least 2 each. The sandwiches felt like something you... More

Having spent the last few days unwell at home with little appetite, I decided to get out of the house and meet a friend at lunch time at this restaurant. At first the staff were friendly and polite. However, given my poor appetite, I tried to only order a tea and was rudely told by the staff that I had... More

I was given a voucher for a high tea and enjoyed the surroundings and fine china. However when asked what tea we would like we were given a selection of teas but we're not informed of the extra cost. We ended up paying $16 for three teas when there was a tea included in the high tea. Overall poor quality... More

Every time my husband and I visit Sydney this is a must do whether it is by ourselves or with our kids. It is a little bit of a step back to a more genteel time where people enjoyed tea and conversation. The atmosphere is perfect and whether we visit in our walking clothes with sneakers or more dressed up... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
