This is such a beautiful space - a pretty sandstone courtyard, fringed with bright fuchsia bougainvillaea, with a glass encased sushi bar on one side and steps, either down to the heart of the cafe on the other or up to the Scanlan & Theodore store, next door. There's a variety of places to sit - either outside in the... More

My friend was asked leave on the weekend because her baby cried before she fed her. This to a loyal patron who had been welcomed in the past with her dogs and a very regular customer. My friend was understandably very upset and shocked at the way she was spoken to by the owner Jackie. So I advise if you... More

My husband and I were just walking from surrey Hills to Paddington when we found this cafe quite by chance. We ordered two salads which were absolutely superb as was our shared panne cotta with passion fruit coulis. The ambience is all cool chic with both outside and inside dining. This is a brilliant place and we plan to return... More

Just the best Scrambled Eggs, preferably those with Parmesan or Feta and Spinach, and very good service. Go early as it is always busy, and the coffee is good too. A great people watching place in a special part of Paddington. Several visits that will certainly be repeated as we at Melbourne residents.

I venture here for breakfast when in Sydney....often with my son's dog literally in tow. They are welcoming; the dog can sit with me in the upper area rather than being dog-napped on the pavement outside; their breakfast offerings are varied and good; the coffee is excellent (and I am from Melbourne!); the staff are pleasant and obliging. What's not... More

I returned to Jackie's because the friends with whom I was going to breakfast wanted to go there. Otherwise, you wouldn't have seen me near the place. I had been there on several occasions previously (about four or five) and, while each experience was so-so, the last one had been quite bad - you can read my review about it... More

Jackie does what Jackie wants. If she doesn't have it or want to do it, it's "no". And there are a lot of "nos". Too many. I've been to Jackie four times in the past five years. Each time I've been encouraged to go by someone else and each time I try to keep my mind open and my hopes... More
