Today already the second time with Nakashima, it is small not a really appealing exterior, but they have a terras and good food offering very good value for their money. This is a hidden Gem We were there with some colleagues, if you want to invite your customer I would recommend another restaurant to inmpress them, but if you know... More

Went here on a Friday night, recommend you book as diners without bookings were turned away. The menu isn't as extensive as some Japanese places, and it is a very unassuming place without much in the way of decoration and is quite small, seating maybe 40 diners in total. However, don't be put off by that. The food is very... More

I would recommend making a booking, as this place is very popular. We visited on a Saturday night. We were lucky to get a nice table in the outside courtyard. Great location, in the Rocks and the service was attentive and friendly. We ordered warm sake (which comes in two sizes). We started with Beef Tataki and Prawn Parcels (on... More

We've eaten at this off the beaten track family run Japanese several times, and it never disappoints. Eating outside but under cover in the Sydney summer is wonderful, and the personal and friendly service is a treat. Starting with a complimentary wine or sake, the experience is deeply satisfying. We had a series of delicious entrees rather than a main,... More

Hidden in a sneaky alleyway of Argyle St, I'm glad I was pointed toward Nakashima by a friend. Complimentary drink on arrival, followed by a huge variety of entrées and some solid mains. The special wagyu dish was particularly delicious. Service was excellent, very accommodating without being overbearing. Quaint little restaurant in the heart of The Rocks, good for something... More

What this place may lack in decor it more than makes up in food quality and price. We especially liked the pork maki, sukiyaki, crab salad and vinegar fried chicken. Dinner for two with drinks was under $100. Hard to beat that anywhere!

I felt like I was back in Japan, as this small place in an alley-like street in the Rocks serves great food. Half of the space is under a tent, where I enjoyed three meals. It got interesting in the rain. Staff are great, and the restaurant seems to be quite popular. It was open on week days when I... More

WE are frequent visitors to this restaurant for over 10 years and the staff are friendly and helpful, the food fresh and delicious. The prices are good and the location great too. Good for young and old.

I was looking for a restaurant in the rocks area, and whilst walking along argyle street found this little gem. I had a take away to go back to m hotel whilst working late, and the staff were mo than accommodating. The food was fantastic, tasty and filling. Although slightly out of the way, this restaurant is one I will... More

While service can sometimes be a little slow, the quality of the food is so good it just doesn't matter. I've dined here several times and have NEVER had a bad meal... the beef sashimi is amazing. Make sure you book! It's not a huge place, and its very popular.
