Great fish restaurant

This is a small restaurant which we had to book for . We had seafood ( shellfish ) platter for 2 which was superb and the fish were prepared in a way that was easy to eat ( no cracking shells etc) this included both Moreton bay bugs which were delicious and I hadn't had before and were like... read more

As one of top rated places to eat in Sydney I was excited to take a friend - we are both ex sydneysiders and had never been. BYO in this part of town is a real treat and I took two bottles of good stuff. We shared the scallops to start and they were a little on the small side... More

I often find it difficult to interpret restaurant reviews, and to choose a restaurant based upon them. This is especially true in tourist hotspots. So no, Fish at the Rocks isn't on the harbour; the decor doesn't involve acres of marble and travertine, and there are certainly no gimmicks. However, Fish at the Rocks has been in business for quite... More

Was told this was the best fish restaurant in Sydney so had no hesitation in agreeing to attend this lunch with a valued client. The restaurant is pretty basic, the toilets could do with a lick of paint and the look over the back of the building was rather messy and not what I had expected from such a highly... More

A small restaurant in this lovely old area of the city. Food was great, a very good range of fish and shellfish. Service very good. The premises are licensed but it also operates a BYO policy and applies a small charge for this. Go there.

Lovely restaurant in Sydney, the staff were wonderfully attentive and the food was excellent. We had the oysters and scallops to start and they let us have half natural oyster and half kilpatrick without any fuss, and the salmon and king prawn gnocchi for mains. Both courses were delicious and the corkage at a very reasonable $5pp allowed us to... More

This was the only restaurant in Sydney that we had to book and when we tried the food the reason was obvious. This is an excellent restaurant in a nice location serving excellent food. My wife started with the tempura battered soft shell crab whilst I had the scallops with crispy polenta. I chose the barramundi fillet stuffed with prawns... More

asked the concierge about where to go for some great seafood that is exorbitantly priced place for seafood while staying at the Grace hotel. this restaurant was recommended. such a great choice with early bird pricing, which is a price fix menu with an appetizer and main including one glass of wine. the food was amazing, the calamari, and kingfish... The chef is skilful but the raw materials are not first claass quality. The wine list is very good. They want to have a high turnover of guests so you are not welcome to sit down and enjoy for too long! They have probably become too well-known, too pricey and arrogant. The neighborhood is nice though.

Although on a quiet road in the area called the Rocks ( definitely worth a visit ) this restaurant does deserve its good reviews especially if you want fish. We did pre-book, the place was packed and we were offered a nice table by the window. Although the service was slightly slower than we expected the quality of the food... More
