great food

Great food, very tasty. Nice ambience. Staff friendly. Only downside is it is quite cramped. We were seated at a table, with tables on both sides of ours, less then 40cm apart. It is not a place to go for a romantic dinner, or to have a private conversation with tables that close together. Looking... read more

A great little Italian restaurant situated beside the Marriott hotel on Pitt St in Sydney. The food was excellent, from the appetizers, grilled calamari and squid, to the main courses of veal and rack of lamb and finally to the desserts of tiramisu and a chocolate and ice cream concoction, the food was excellent. The service provided by two young... More

We are a young couple and ate here on a Wednesday night (last night actually) around 8pm. It is a quaint traditional Italian style place, with a piano player. A little daggy but in a good way. We liked the atmosphere of the place, it has nice exposed wood ceilings, and a quiet fine dining relaxed vibe. We loved that... More

This authentic Italian restaurant has been in operation at these premises for the last 16 years, and if the quality of the food and service we experienced at our visit, it will be there for many years to come. Situated in a small Lane way (Bulletin Place) just off Pitt St at the Circular Quay end of the road. To... More

Nice and cozy place but with one senior waiter and two trainees on their first day at work we could maybe hit a better day to visit. Food ok, but small portions. Maybe a good business strategy for the restaurant since we all ordered dessert. Witch was good by the way. Totally an ok evening in Sydney but maybe a... More

Surrounds typical of small quaint Italian restaurant. We went later on a Saturday night so probably not appropriate to judge atmosphere as the place was winding down in terms of patrons. Not a fan of the piano playing but that's a personal preference. Had a seafood antipasto for two as entree. Very disappointing. Crabmeat very watery (out of a tin??).... More

Visited with family staying at the Marriott. The location and atmosphere are fabulous but goes downhill from here. The service is pompous and intrusive. The menu is traditional and certainly overpriced for the quality. The grilled octopus was pick of the night and the prosutto was fine but nothing special. The main courses of lamb and prawns were very ordinary,... More

I've stopped in there about a dozen times in the last five years. It is a place that used to be exciting and had wonderful food. I believe it only fair to say that maybe the owner managers should sell out and retire. The location next to the Marriott is ideal. The alley is quaint. The room is warm. It... More

My wife & I are 63 and we went to Alfredo's on the advice of the Marriott hotel, right next door. The place is quaint, the pasta home made. They had a piano player who visited the tables, chatted a bit and then played music upon request. Not loud, perfect for the atmosphere. The place was hot and humid, like... More

A group of 18 of us turned up at 7:00pm on a Friday night without a reservation. The staff were extremely accommodating and put together a long table for our group. The menu was very extensive with a wide choice of authentic Italian dishes. I had a ravioli dish that was I think the most amazing meal I have ever... More
