Always found this venue to be good

I have eaten here on a number of occasion mainly with larger group functions. There is a private area that can be portioned from the main restaurant. I have always found the food and wines to be great, staff friendly and the view out onto the harbour from the end of the wharf is relaxing.

Had a great light lunch with family before going to the theatre. Would recommend this venue for locals and visitors alike.

The menu was interesting and the service was at lightning speed, we did enjoy our meal here! The restaurant has an air our commitment by both staff and customers and the walk along to the end of the pier is almost a transition into the world of the theatre. Our bill was reasonable for the quality of food that was... More

What a fantastic night and what a great way to see in the New Year! Great food, wonderful atmosphere. Drinks were not to expensive and we had wonderful company. To cap it all a great view of the Sydney fireworks!

Had dinner there last night, before an early evening performance of "The Present". The service and execution of a quick 2 course dinner was excellent, however the food was a little disappointing. I had barramundi and it was beautifully cooked, but there was basically nothing else on the plate! It said s pumpkin purée! But it was just a mere... More

Comfortable space for a pre theatre meal on a wharf on Sydney harbour. Some previous reviews state that orders for drinks and food were in different areas, this is no longer a problem. For groups, there are two "wings" either side of the main area which can be hired. Current offer of 1/2 price meals after 2000hrs valid until Sept... More

The casual atmosphere belies a seriously good menu. Getting good quality wines by the glass complimented interesting dishes and the desert menu is worth keeping some space for.

We used to go to the old Wharf Theatre restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it, they have changed the restaurant now and have no bookings and no table service. We got there early, so did not have to queue up to get a table, but people arriving after us did. We did have to queue for drinks, it was a long... More

Food selection was poor. No service, no flavor! Lining up for drinks and food for a long time. Will not go back. Over priced.

Worst thing is having to order and pay for food and drinks separately. Best thing, everything else and the setting. The food is particularly good, just the right size portions and very tasty. Service with a smile and quick as in the evening the play is the thing. No need for reservations pre theatre.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
