Great pre theatre dinner, good service, but food a bit disappointing

Had dinner there last night, before an early evening performance of "The Present". The service and execution of a quick 2 course dinner was excellent, however the food was a little disappointing. I had barramundi and it was beautifully cooked, but there was basically nothing else on the plate! It... read more

Comfortable space for a pre theatre meal on a wharf on Sydney harbour. Some previous reviews state that orders for drinks and food were in different areas, this is no longer a problem. For groups, there are two "wings" either side of the main area which can be hired. Current offer of 1/2 price meals after 2000hrs valid until Sept... More

The casual atmosphere belies a seriously good menu. Getting good quality wines by the glass complimented interesting dishes and the desert menu is worth keeping some space for.

We used to go to the old Wharf Theatre restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it, they have changed the restaurant now and have no bookings and no table service. We got there early, so did not have to queue up to get a table, but people arriving after us did. We did have to queue for drinks, it was a long... More

Food selection was poor. No service, no flavor! Lining up for drinks and food for a long time. Will not go back. Over priced.

Worst thing is having to order and pay for food and drinks separately. Best thing, everything else and the setting. The food is particularly good, just the right size portions and very tasty. Service with a smile and quick as in the evening the play is the thing. No need for reservations pre theatre.

I remember this venue as a restaurant. I was surprised to find that it is now a more casual, artsy bar, with what is essentially a tapas style menu. One orders at the bar. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I found it difficult to select a tasty healthy, or gluten free option. The food was fine, but not... More

We have been patrons of the STC since the beginning. Having experienced the evolution of the Wharf Theatre over many of those years, we were always hoping a 1st class eaterie would follow. Sadly, it never has... many caterers have come and gone and the latest brings no joy. The view of course remains stunning, the space is open and... More

Very nice place, food really good and stunnig views of the bridge and the ópera! Right next to The Rocks. A bit expensive but understand when you have a table with the ópera in front of you! Barramundi delicious!

Expecting to enjoy a nice dinner before our Friday night show we were disappointed with the size and quality of our choices. Surveying the menu which appeared to be mainly tapas dishes we decided to pay a bit more and order two of the more expensive meals off the Blackboard Menu. At $25.00 I received a piece of fish the...
