The Nine Dragons is up there with the best in my humble opinion. We had our second Xmas lunch here and if anything it exceeded last years meal ! The staff were quick and efficient and the meals were fabulous and for the price with wine & beers included you would be hard pressed to do better ! It also... More

We headed to China town to enjoy the area and have a meal. We chose Nine Dragons and chose the $18 a head offer. Spring Roll, Dim Sim, Steamed or Fried Rice and choice of main course. You could go up stairs to the restaurant or eat on the street. The meal was served promptly and although the main course... More

10/10 for food and service. Taken straight to a table upon arrival, with no booking. Explained how to order yum cha or a la carte. Were very helpful and friendly, and spoke excellent English. Food arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. Best Chinese I've had in Sydney. Very reasonably priced.

Visited here on a tight timetable before the Hugh Jackman Show at Qantas Arena . We had divided opinions about this restaurant .I thought it was quite delicious ( like most meals I don't have to prepare ,cook and clean up ) but my foodie husband who quite likes a bit of spice thought the food was bland and tasteless... The Nine Dragons is a traditional Chinatown restaurant - big and noisy with lots of tasty food. The staff are good, even when rushed off their feet. The atmosphere is great and the prices reasonable. Very enjoyable.

Chosen at random we ventured up the stairs. Decor is pretty much what to expect in a Chinatown restaurant. Very clean and still reasonably fresh looking. The menu has all the standards so choosing wasn't a hassle. Soup, sizzling steak and rice. The service started efficiently but diminished as the place filled and filled and filled. Very popular and people... More

We always dine at nine dragons when in Sydney. So it was a delight to find it was on the CITI dining program, so a free bottle of wine thank you very much. But the food was great as usual and the service super efficient.

Four of us enjoyed sharing a variety of dishes which were tasty, hot and quickly served. Would recommend for anyone wanting a quick meal prior to going on to the theatre etc

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighborhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theater, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
