In Sydneys Chinatown is one of the few places in the city that you'll get people out the front exhorting you (in a very friendly way) to come into their restaurant. While this may be common place elsewhere there isn't much of this in Australia. Anyway this little restaurant scores points for its options of inside or outside dining in... More

Recently had yum cha here with friends and had a wonderful time. We ate ourselves to a standstill and got out for less than $25 a head. Great value!! The food was amazing, the dumplings and mango pancakes were a standout. Service was what you expect at yum cha and the atmosphere was not great (although it was a Sunday... More

Our table on the footpath in Dixon Street had us right in the centre of bustling Friday night market. The staff were courteous and helpful. My gluten free meal of chicken and cachews with vegetables was delicious. The girls on the street at the entrance were able to direct me to several gluten free options on the menu. My friends... Myself and my partner went two nights ago! The restaurant looked lovely! It was clean spacious and busy, we got a nice seat by the window! We ordered two mains, two drinks and a side! We asked for a side with the meal but it came as a starter however it was quite tasty! Then my partners meal came it... More

Nine Dragons is situated in the heart of Sydney's Chinatown on Dixon Street. According to it's website, it is "an admirable Chinese restaurant that has been producing consistent fine quality food for over 30 years." (http://www.ninedragons.com.au). I popped in at about 6:30pm on 8 April 2014 for dinner. That would be a good time to go as the crowd starts... More

Nice food but well overpriced , small plain serves a lot better places to eat in this street, sometimes the busiest is not always the best

Visited this place on Jan 31st chinese new year. As a previous reviewer, don't be fooled by the cheerful girl with the menus - hers was the last smiling face we got, this place is dirty and terrible. The food was cold, uninspired, chewy and tasteless, and I don't think we should guess over whether something we were eating was chicken or... More

Six of us had dinner at this restaurant during chinese new year on Saturday night and the spruikers were full on. The restaurant was pretty busy and quite full in the outside area, but staff quickly put some seating together for us because we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. The female staff were very friendly but one... More

Visited this restaurant for the first time on a damp and humid Sunday afternoon with another couple. Undercover outside seating is available but we chose inside because of the air conditioning. The restaurant was half full, sometimes a good sign, sometimes not, in an area where really good restaurants are packed. Service for yum cha was, as always fast. Part... More

China Town in Sydney was buzzing anyway with the Chinese New Year and I am pleased that the four of us were early enough to get a seat. The service was very prompt and efficient, but still with the appearance of genuine care that makes a night special. We all ordered different meals (to share in Asian fashion) and were... More
