This is a no frills, good food Chinese restaurant. The service was efficient and polite. The food was excellent. BYO wine with a corkage price per person so take a good bottle with you. We ordered a banquet for 3 so don't be put off by the menu saying min 4 persons. That way you get a good variety.

been here several times over the years, on my own & with friends. Good for meat & rice dishes. Dirt cheap when with large groups and BYO wine. Don't expect anything special but a good authentic bbq Chinese feed. Worth a visit.

I have been going here for years although a gap since last visit. The normal dismissive waiters remain but the food has gone downhill in quality with the price rising. Unfortunately the BBQ pork and duck is very average and if your after a good peking duck try other places in chinatown. Once a favourite but a shell of its... More

I understand the problems faced by reviewers below. BBQ King is an institution, but you must 'know' what to order. BBQ Pork on rice, BBQ Duck on rice, and House soup for two with 'chopped chilli' on the side please. (Make sure you say 'pork ON rice' etc) That should do the two of you just fine. Deviate from this... More

Amazingly quick service with tasty food. Always a good choice for a quick feed in Chinatown. Chicken sweetcorn soup was a winner on a cold night!

If you are on a diet then you won't like this place. The attraction of this place is that it is opened until 2am in the morning. Roast pork and rice is not bad.

I go to Chinatown regularly but for some reason hadn't been to BBQ King for quite a number of years since I discovered excellent roast duck in Redfern (Wah Fung). We came specifically for the duck and, while it was good duck, the price was 50% more than we pay at our local. The décor is still the same as... More

Believe it or not, I was standing in front of this restaurant on two occasions. The first, I decided it looked unappetizing and went on to a nearby restaurant instead (it was a terrible meal). Then, my family an I decided to give this one a try. Ordered some roast pork, duck and some fried rice. The fried rice was... More

We have been coming here on and off for 16 years. It was good in the past when we had suckling pig etc. I went last night with my two teenagers, we had soup as entree and three mains. Two of the dishes were very oily. The soups were ok, large size for entree. The bill came to $120. $32... More
