Fortuitously found the wharf during our walk from the opera to Wooloomooloo... Courteous, professional staff. Had a tapas style late lunch. Marvelous oysters any way you want, luscious baby octopus. A never ending wine list. A top place. Preferably for those who like to eat very smart casual... But I heard this is Wooloomooloo...

Bought an online deal for this restaurant - $89 dinner for 2 : a glass of wine, entrée, main and dessert. The service was efficient and the maître’d lady was wonderful. We had calamari and oysters to start, beef cheeks and fish for mains and a chocolate dessert and apple dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection and wonderfully seasoned. The... More

After a morning at the Art Gallery of New South Wales seeing works by Sol Lewitt I wanted a very light salad lunch and a crisp white wine in the toasty winter sun. It was exactly as I wanted. Rocket, feta, walnut and apple salad beautifully presented with a great vinaigrette. Lovely bread and olive oil served too. Great sunshine... More

If you enjoy seafood, I recommend the seafood pie like the previous reviewer. We ordered a number of the smaller dishes together with the Seafood Pie with Potato Mash so we could explore the menu. We were advised that the pie would take 25 minutes and we asked if all dishes could come at the same time which was no... More

This upmarket-casual dining restaurant is worth a look and I could see myself enjoying the food again. I felt the service was about 'right' as we weren't being hassled every 5 minutes. This restaurant seems to position itself nicely away from the pretense (& price) of others whilst delivering a lovely night out. One point of note: issues about service... More

We sat outside under the heaters on a cold night. Lovely, lively spot. Food had a lot of highs, but portions quite small. After the excellent raw seafood starter, I was advised my trout would be medium rare- OK, but it was quite well done. The skin was nice & crispy though. We had a great night, but it is... More

The food at Manta is pretty good, as is the lovely Woollomolloo view. The problem, however, is the poor service. We had to ask for menus, we had to ask for our wine to be poured, we had to ask for water to be refilled, in other words we had to beg for service. I'm sorry, but when you're paying... More

We dined here years ago for a Wedding Anniversary with our friends and it was one of the best dinners we'd ever had. Certainly the best lobster we've ever had (with bottarga butter). The bill for the four of us was over $700 back then and definitely worth it. This time we returned with different friends and it was vastly... More

We decided to come back to Manta with some friends and try the $90 tasting plate. We started with bread and oil followed by arancini and scallops and pork belly for entrée then prawns and beef (im not a meat eater so I am unsure of the cut of meat but was told was great) and a side of potatoes.... We had an overall great meal here. It had a lovely atmosphere. The desert was beautiful, as were the sides, and the service. However, we got the lobster which was a little tough... was disappointing considering the price tag. It is a very expensive restaurant and the cocktails were not so great!
