Love the Tiger Pie!

The Tiger Pie is something of Legend. And it is easily one of my fondest memories when thinking back to my time in Sydney. What's the deal with this? I have never had such a lack of flavor and seasoning in a storied bite such as this. Arrived on a quiet Sunday evening after a stroll around the harbors. Wasn't remotely intoxicated, which is perhaps the problem. I ordered a tiger pie, the signature dish. This is a meat pie with lean beef inside,... More

Its a legendary Sydney icon, just to stop there and grab a bite to eat and just watch the world go by and say you've been to Harrys

Great juicy pies. We had the curried chicken. Real chunks of chicken, not ground up ????. Great selection plus a mixture of toppings.

I accidently found this food cart next to the Harbor close the Navy ships. I visited several times. I had seen this before, the owner came out and showed me the photos and explained it had been on the Food shows (Of course), and showed me the photos of the many famous people who have stopped to have the world... Harry's has been here since 1945 and for good reason. The pies are not large but most are less than AUD$5.00 and they are very tasty. My wife did not like her seafood pie though because she said it was too dry. My Chicken Curry Pie was fantastic. We did not try the hot dogs but will do that another... More

Eating from a food truck is not something that we usually do but we decided to give it a go because of the good reviews. Caught the 311 bus from Circular Quay which stops right next to Harry's. It takes about 20 minutes. We all chose a different flavour of Tiger and we all thought they were excellent. Much better... More

I mean its not world class cuisine. However it's an institution and you've got to do it, if not in Sydney then in Newcastle

Harry's cafe de wheels I also tried the Bondi beach location. Never tried a meat pie so I had to try one...Traditional style with mashed potatos, mashed peas and gravy. ( Gotta admit, I still don't get the whose mashed peas thing!) Tiger style. Gotta have one, although I was tempted to do a hotdog too. Quick and fast. Easy... More

In Sydney, most of the shops close after 6PM, including restaurants. If you are a tourist, it will be hard for you to find a resturant where you can sit back and relax after a day long excursion. Among the very few shops that stay open till 2AM, Harrys Cafe De Wheels is one. But thats not the only advantage,... More
