Limited range of food, about toast and well-cooked, was expecting more Rotti, tandoori etc rather than quinoa salad, wedges and soup though a couple of more traditional Indian dishes and rice. Popular venue and pleasant staff.

Went there with 3 friends last night for dinner after making a reservation early in the day. We were led to a table in the farthest and dingiest corner of the restaurant, while there were only 2 other tables occupied at that time. Not the ones to easily write off a place, we managed to squeeze in and settle down.... More

We booked a table for 8 people, it worked out very well. It was all-you-can eat, so you could choose your food at the buffet. The food is all vegeterian, very tasty and with many different flavors. Afterwards we had tickets for the cinema upstairs. It is quite small and you lie on mattresses to watch the movie, which is... More

I've been to this restaurant located in Sydney CBD for my Wife's Birthday party. I really liked the place for it's nice ambiance, menu options & unlimited buffet. Pros : 1. Food is really good as it's a mix of multiple cuisines like Italian, Indian, Continental 2. Ambiance is too good as they have nice background music playing all the... More

For an unusual night at the movies Govinda's is a classic night out. We arrived at 6.15pm and got a great table. We had parked on a meter but only $6 for 4 hours! Our friends were late to join us but we started at the buffet and kept going back! Yummy Indian-style vegetarian and delicious salads. Friendly staff and... More

Our party of four recently had the dinner and movie option at Govinda's. The buffet style vegetarian food was excellent, but what really made the experience unique was the cinema. Being able to watch a film while laying back on comfortable cushions after kicking off your shoes was great fun. There was a real sense of communal enjoyment in that... More

I took my partner for his first visit to Govindas last weekend and he totally loved the experience although he was a bit apprehensive about "cuddling" up to strangers on the lounge beds in the movies after our meal(there are chairs available for those that are severely into their personal space) . The buffet is small with only half a... More

The food was delicious. However, the buffet costs AUD 20 per person which doesn't include dessert. I think this price should include dessert. Although the food was great, we found the service appalling. We were told the buffet closes at 9.30pm. But at 9pm, the waitress told us they are closing at 9.15 as it was very quiet. We went... More
