This has been one of my favourite Japanese in Sydney for years- order well and volume, quality and value will be yours! Tips- order the combos, they are incredible value and get to the restaurant by 6.30 at the very latest or expect a long wait.

I have been going to this little Japanese restaurant for more than 3 times. Food is very nice and great value. For less than $15, you could have a set which is enough for 2 persons. Although there are not a lot of choices for the lunch set but still enjoyable. The only thing is that it is always busy... More

I have been going to Sushi Suma for about 8 years. It is a Surry Hills institution. The device can be bad at busy times as they seem to be understaffed and they run. They used to be in a smaller location a couple of doors up and I think they need a bigger premises or utilize the upstairs Rea... More

I think I never wrote any restaurant negative review, because we always go to restaurants based on tripadvisor and are very rarely disappointed. This one deserves one.. Don't go there or you run the risk of being sick, eating old sashimis. There were about 2 to 3 old sashimis on both of our plates, which made us sick. The fact... More

My husband and I have been coming to Sushi Suma for over ten years, food is fresh and very tasty. We now bring our two children here and they love it! Great value for money and large portion sizes. Get in early as they don't take reservations it gets extremely busy.

I may be spoiled by the sushi or sashimi that I get to eat in Vancouver, I am surprised that the menu doesn't offer nigiri sushi. The sushi they offer is sushi set, which you don't get to choose the specific type of sushi you want... It seems to be operated by Japanese, so it's at least authentic. The price... More

Don't expect anything about the ambience or service. This place feels more like a campus cafe. BUT they do serve nice quality sushi (considering the price you pay) and pretty generous servings. When you crave for sushi, Japanese food but you don't want to spend too much, this is the place for you.

We frequently return to this Surry Hills gem! Food is fresh, quick, and what value for money. We love good japanese food but often find that it can be very pricey. My husband and I order plenty to feed two and bill doesnt go far over $50. The sashimi, Agadashi, tempura and of course a hot miso are favourites on... More

While waiting for my husband to arrive , I first ordered a set dinner which was over $38. You could tell from the menu that it was meant for 2 people. The boss wasn't happy and insisted that we must order 1 more item because of 2 people. It wasn't the condition of entry. When my husband came, we decided... More
