Great food, poor service, would not do dinner on a weekend night

We were a party of four and the seafood at Nick's is well worth the visit, everyone had good food. We had good service for the first half hour or so but the place has a serious issue with being understaffed. My best advice is try going at lunch during the week or maybe dinner during the week. If... read more

. Food was good...kids meals standard. Wine was very good but it did take about half an hour to come - we ordered another straight away. The two waiters we had were very nice but were fun off their feet - way too busy. Perhaps more staff on a very busy Sunday in the middle of the boat show is... More

5 diners , garlic bread for entree .... Soft bread with a nice garlic flavour . Impressed . Mains we ordered and shared 3 Fishermans baskets and 2 lobster mornays . Fishermans baskets were nice , the fish and prawns were our favourite from this . The lobster mornays were huge ( not cheap - market price ) but the... More

After a big day at the #brokingawards we celebrated with a delicious meal at Nicks. We ordered 3 entrées, tasting plate, bugs and the special garlic/chili prawns followed by eye fillet and king prawns in Bernaise sauce. They were flat out yet still supplied fantastic service and delicious food! Thanks guys!

I have been to Nick's three times before. Every other time it has been great but this time around was no pleasant experience. We started out with bugs for the entre, which were great but then it started to head south. Firstly, I chose a beer that I knew I liked. The waiter insisted twice that I buy some imported... More

Dear Simon Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience in your last visit to Nick's Seafood In reading you review, I was surprised to hear that you did not like our wine nor our imported beer. We do go to great length to source our house wine, and the beer in particular has won many major awards in... More

I arrived from Greece and took two of my sons and a girlfriend for a bite to eat near my hotel. Nick's was open but were closing quite soon. We were given 20 minutes to order. We took 5 minutes. I ordered Rib eye medium rare. My son's girlfriend ordered Salmon steak. The other two meals were pasta. All came... More

Dear Greg We are disappointed to know that you were not satisfied with our service. Normally our waiters pride themselves on customer service and I am very surprised that they came across as being rude. Sometimes when it is busy we forget how important our manner and approach is to our guests. This should never happen though and we have... More

Seafood is really fresh! But the lobster is tasteless? The view is great (especially if you're seated outdoors facing the water), and the service is good! Prices are pretty high (touristy area), and the food is average at best.

Dear KeshiaKan We are sorry that you did not find our lobster to your liking. We only buy quality seafood from our suppliers. We have informed our suppliers and your comments have been taken seriously. Thank you again for your feedback. Best Regards Nick's Seafood Restaurant Manager More

My partner and i are fortunate to live in Pyrmont, so when the sun decided to unveil itself last weekend, we took full advantage of being able to plop ourselves with full sun for the afternoon, and a platter to slowly indulge ourselves at Nicks in Darling Harbour..... We mightve gone to Cyren ( same owners) but they lose the... More

Dear Fiona I am sorry that you had an experience with us that fell short of your expectations. Our Seafood Platter is one of our Signature Menu items and also one of our biggest sellers. All of our seafood on that platter is bought fresh daily and our prices reflect this. We endeavour to always provide memorable and positive experiences... More

Had a Hot Seafood Platter for Two ($160) with the lobster done in a mornay sauce (+$10) and the oysters kilpatrick (no additional cost). The food was quite good with the lobster and oysters being the highlight. The mussels had a chili salsa and was quite good too. The cold prawns and crab were okay however in some ways we... More
