Don't be put off that it's vegetarian

The food is fantastic and well priced. We went at lunch, which meant the food came out quickly and fresh. I went for the Punjabi plate (4 small curries, 2 roti, a poppadum, rice, natural yoghurt and a rice dessert) at $19.90. My colleagues went for the sizzling platter and a rice specialty (missed... read more

I lived around the corner from Maya Masala for 2 years and never went there. As it's purely vegetarian, and I'm a vegetarian, that's ridiculous. In my defence, I went upstairs to Maya Tandoor a few times and enjoyed the food there, but always overlooked the downstairs Masala venue as it seemed like more of a sweets shop than a... More

Always enjoy my Punjabi Thalis at this restaurant. Only disappointment is that the staff always hide themselves and seem always too busy to attend customers. Simply having a TV shouting out Bollywood movies is not always the answer. If the owner could just take a little more care with customers it would be great.

I usually love maya. Most of the time it is value for money. I went in today got idli/ sambar/ chutney for $6.90. Good value. I also purchased some pista kulfi which cost almost the same at the idli ($6.50). I got these items take away and when I opened the bag I was surprised to see the smallest little... More

This restaurant is one of my regular haunts. Whilst I am not Indian, I appreciate the subtle flavours of the cuisine and am always encouraged when I find myself one of a very few Caucasian faces in the place. Indians know a good Indian restaurant when they find one! The food is vegetarian and full of variety. My three favourites... More

There is a huge variety of items on the menu as well as daily specials and it has been rare to have a meal that wasn't very tasty. We recommend the Masala Dosa, Vegetable Samosa and Pani Puri as our biggest favourites.

Maya Vegetarian is an informal dine in place that serves wonderful and tasty authentic vegetarian food from North and South India. The menu is huge and includes tandoori dishes and dosas - it is difficult to choose what to have! We tried a thali (a good choice if you simply can't choose), a biryani and a dosa - all were... Good food, very authentic. Good balance of spice, great sweets, and most of all their food is fresh and well prepared. Must go place if one wants to taste good Indian food.

We visited this café style Indian vegetarian restaurant twice in two days on our recent visit to Sydney. The first night we ordered North Indian Thali meals which were good value for money. We did not want Brinjals so it was substituted for Chana. On the 2nd visit two days later, I decided to eat Chana Bhatoora. I specifically requested... More
