This was my second visit to Marque to experience the extraordinary Friday Lunch special: three courses, in which you have no say what you are getting (although special dietary needs can be addressed if necessary), for a mere $49 person (plus drinks). What was amazing this time round was that while the quality of food and service was as fabulous... More

I visited Marque in the NY 2016. It was a late booking. However, my table was excellent, quite and in a corner. The whole restaurant was in a very relaxed, quiet atmosphere. The accent was on the food and wine. The delightful dishes were sized to accommodate an eight course degustation menu. I chose the matching Premium wines. And what... More

We had an amazing lunch today at Marque to celebrate the New Year. From the beginning, we knew that we were in for a treat, the staff were welcoming and gave a great first impression. The tables are well spaced to allow for conversation, but also to sit back and enjoy the buzz in the room. The wine list is... More

The chef is a perfectionist and with extreme expertise. The food is simply glorious and uniquely creative. Wines also wonderful. I can't wait for his other restaurant to open

This is a good restaurant with the highlight of our degustation here being the well chosen wine list. The food dishes varied in their quality with a surprisingly heavy emphasis on vegetables considering the cost of the menu. More seafood options towards the start of the menu would have been preferred. While the service was comparable to any high priced... More

This was hands done the most uninspiring, yawn worthy fine dining experience I have ever had. Shame shame on whomever provided this place with positive reviews and inflated the rating of this restaurant. I took my partner here to celebrate his birthday, mistakenly not having looked at other reviews beforehand. I assumed (as I am sure many have) that based... More

We visited on a "date night" while traveling with children. While the prices are high the food and service were amazing! We enjoyed the 8 course meal with wine and would definitely recommend for an experience.

We were a group of wine producers from Italy attending a wine fair and were very happy to try this restaurant. One of us had met the owner in Europe and was invited personally by him to dine here on this specific evening. Unfortunately, the owner wasn’t around to greet us nor did he leave a personal note excusing his... More

Staying in Surry Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Surry Hills
Once regarded as the traditional fashion area, Surry Hills has broadened its appeal. This neighborhood continues to distinguish itself as a shopping destination, offering the best collection of one-of-a-kind boutiques, designer brands and flagship stores in the city. Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colorful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighborhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
