No Gold Star

In appropriate music in background, un charismatic staff, lets this place down, had Fraser Island Crab, Smoked Eel, Quail, wagyu, and wild flower honeycomb cultured cream, with matching wines. In truth the wines were excellent, the food was not so good as in not amazing, apart from the desert.

The most terrible fine dining experience in my life. From 5 dishes only beef was good. Complimentary ice cream in carrot cone was horrible 😲

Overpriced, small portions and nothing special. I was expecting much more..I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Nothing to die for. The 3 course menu at $95 was a bit of a joke. Entree was potato with ham and pees with no ham? It was lacking some more substance as we had to keep eating bread and butter until the main arrived. Main was ok but nothing special. Dessert wasn't really there as we only had some... More

We went here with a last minute whim for my wife's birthday after googling best Sydney restaurants and working through the list for a vacant table. Really happy we found this one and could get in. The ambience is beautiful and the 80's background music made me feel at home! We decided to go the 5 choice menu which is... More

Haven't been there recently but that one time experience has scared me for life. I made a dinner booking for my partner and sister to celebrate my sister's birthday. We ordered degustation menu with matching wines. Literally every dish was bland. They all needed some seasoning.. thank god we ordered matching wines with dishes else we would have left empty... My husband and I had the 8 course degustation on Friday night to celebrate my birthday. With all its hats and reputation we thought we'd be in for an inventive and delicious food journey. But I'm afraid it was a case of the Emperor's New Clothes. We really didn't enjoy the food. Everything was bland, annoyingly neither sweet nor savory... More

The menu was ambitious and generally interesting. Most of the courses were excellent (particularly the smoked eel with parmesan gnocchi & pumpkin, and cauliflower with blood sausage & prawn custard) although a couple were less exciting and the final dessert seemed completely misplaced on the menu ('carrot cornetto' cone with sorbet - bitter and more suited as an entree dish).... Visited for the $49 Friday lunch special. Food was very good, but I'm not prepared to call it 'great'. I'm glad it was $49, not their usual a la carte prices. Wine was expensive, bringing the total up significantly (not a complaint; merely a comment). My one complaint is the ridiculous $5 per person that they add to every bill... More

We had a great meal at Marque this evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. The menu was the '7th Week of Autumn' 8-course degustation. We were concerned when we took our seats for 2 that the place looked a little cramped. But this wasn't a problem as Marque placed diners on alternate tables as they arrived so we had plenty... More
