Great Yum Cha, but some improvement needed

We have been here several times over the last few years. Sunday yum cha is normally really crowded, but the recent visit on Sunday was quite tame!! I don't think the place was fully booked. Some of the dishes did not meet our expectations, and one in particular was not cook long enough - the egg... read more

Great ambience, selection of food and super fast service. Good value for money. Very popular with the Chinese community which is always a good sign.

Whenever we visit Sydney we like to have Yum Cha but our "Go To" restaurant has let us down of late so we decided it was time to try somewhere new. Off to Tripadvisor I went and came up with this little beauty. Although little is not really a word that you would us to describe The Marigold, It is... More

Best Yum Cha I have tried in Sydney but can't comment on other food. Yum Cha is fresh and varied but very crowded and like similar restaurants is not intimate. Food though is great with lots of unusual dishes as well as the more common ones.

We enjoyed a banquet menu in our group of six. Excellent service throughout, but better than the service was the food. Every course was delicious, with the first two (scallops, then peking duck - carved at table) served to us individually by the waiter. The remaining dishes were excellent. Plenty to go around. Finished off with mango pancakes and fresh... More

I have been to Marigold many times it just seems to keep getting better. It is a large busy and very efficient Chinese Restaurant. YOU need to be early like about 1100hrs to get a table without queuing. Food is generous - well cooked and a large variety.

I've been coming for years to Marigold for yum cha and and dinners. Despite having tried many other places, this is still the go to for us, my family and our friends. The variety of food suits many palates and their steamed goods are fresh and well made. The trolley ladies are helpful and will try to tell you what... More

Visited with friends on Sunday for YumCha. One of the better YumChas around. The place on 5th floor was packed with considerable queue of people waiting to be seated. Recommend booking a table as I did, because we simply bypassed the waiting row of people and went straight to our table.

It's a Sydney institution. Great for Yum Cha great for a sit down dinner. Are they the best? Maybe not, but you'll never be let down. Judy has been the hostess there as long as I can remember and she always remembers you... You should go.

marigold had been synonymous with the best yum cha in Sydney for a long time. We just went again a few days ago and sadly, the quality had dropped and there had been no new items on the yum cha menu. for example, we ordered the cha siew rolled rice noodle. it obviously had been frozen before as the rice...
