Great experience, plenty of good food, great prices

A large group of us went to Yum Cha on Mother's Day. It was extremely busy! There was a line up for the three lifts. We went to wrong floor, but they had the booking on both floors, so they quickly guided us to the correct floor. We then had to line up for the lift back down. The wait... read more

Terrible service even by low standards in Chinatown. Staff were generally disinterested in serving us. Had to stand around a dirty table for ten minutes before sitting down. Couldnt order anything or get water or new cutlery without flailing my arms for ten minutes, each time. True we were not going there for service and the place was full on... More

Having dined at Marigolds countless times for weekend yum cha, we stopped going as the service went downhill and the food was below par. Well not anymore. With the increasing competition in the field of yum cha, this traditional old time favourite has obviously realised it had to improve. The service was prompt, friendly and the dumplings divine. Highly recommend.

To celebrate Mother's Day, we decided to spoil mom with 🐚🍲堂灼鮮螺片poached whelk slices and 水餃Cantonese dumplings served in broth, the waiter cook for you in the dining hall, service was slightly lacking. Dessert of my choice was🍈 老婆餅Sweetheart cake, the delicious thin flaky pastry with filling of moderately sweet winter melon, almond paste and fragrance of sesame, moist and silky... More

We went as a group of 8 family and friends to the Marigold to celebrate our daughter's graduation from University. The food was absolutely beautiful, the service was wonderful and very attentive and our whole group had nothing but praise for the whole experience.

As a brit the concept of Yum Cha is relatively new to me. Who'd have thought that grumpy chinese ladies with trollies would actually improve the entire dining experience. This place is great for food, atmosphere, and socialising a like. The communal food plates are always delicious and there is something for everyone! The close proximity to the shops, CBD,... More

Marigold gives you a full on yum Cha experience. Don't go here if your after a quiet meal or you have a hangover the place is really loud with people jammed in everywhere. The dumplings were good and steamed buns probably the pick of the food but the bbq meats were very ordinary. Staff can be rude but don't be... More

I have been here a few times and do find the Yum Cha quite decent. But I was appalled by the treatment we received during my last visit, which I brought my cousin and my 8-year old niece with me who didn't speak any English. All our requests were ignored and we were forced back to our seats by probably... More

Was once a Sydney institution, have been coming here for many years. The standards have dropped over the last couple of years. Used to be amazing, its still crazy busy but the food is a bit of a lottery depends which trolleys come past, some of the dishes are very deep fried and fatty but stick to the dumplings as... More

I have been to Marigold a few times. They have a huge variety of items and is very popular. We usually go bit earlier for brunch before the crowd picks up to avoid service delays.
