Lunch at MARIGOLD SYD

The food was good except the spare rib in TIM SUM form - too much gravy and very sweet - not what I had expected . The rest was excellent and we had a great lunch - don't expect great service rather similar to those in Hong Kong where the waiter slaps on a cleaned table cloth and set up... read more

Have been coming to Marigold for almost 20 years, but definitely had my last time last weekend. Service was horrible (after a 15 min wait, we were taken somewhere in the middle of the restaurant and left stranded with a pram, the waitress never returned), staff were shockingly rude and it was very difficult to get any food we were... We go here often for yum Cha. It's consistently good and with parking underneath, it's easy entry on a busy sat or sun morning. You have to come before 12 to get a seat fast.

One of the poorer Peking ducks we have had. The san Choy bau was cold and gluggy when it arrived before we had finished our Peking duck pancakes Got put in the back of the restaurant which seemed to be the place for older Australians. We were rushed through our food with the san Choy bau arriving before we had... More

What a joke !!!! Don't mind the queuing for a table but seriously we were hardly ever passed by with the food trolleys. I know Yum Cha can be a bit hit and miss but this is a 100% miss

This is one of the old traditional Chinese restaurants - great staff and food and service - I love the duck and the seafood dishes - have never had a bad experience there - there also is an excellent beef dish and a variety of rice dishes - there are excellent facilities also for private functions.

Packed & full on from the moment we arrived. The trollies were laden with tasty morsels. Unfortunately it was difficult to determine exactly what was on offer, the greens never arrived, & the duck was much later & was nearly missed. the exceptional dumplings were delightful & we have decided to definitely return. Next time we know what to ask... More

Unfortunately the kids would not go far beyond the pork buns so we ended up with too much. Need some more adventurous people to share.

The day I visited this restaurant was dragon boat festival, so it was full of chinese as well as the locals. The dim sum was more or less like Hong Kong Chinese restaurant and the taste was also the same compare to Hong Kong Chinese restaurant, definitely better than one of the biggest Chinese restaurant group in Hong Kong start... Had lunch here with friends on a busy Saturday. The place gets packed from quite early on so it would be worth booking a table. Trollies come around fairly frequently, but avoid being given plates of things you don't want - we got caught in the first 5 minutes. The steamed dishes are the better ones, as are some of... More
