has anyone ever had yum Cha that was good at this awful place? we saw them point and make jokes about a group if gay guys on the next door table then they bump their trollies into your seats no matter how far away from the table you sit they ignore requests for the drink menu, the bathrooms are dirty... When eating at Marigold it is important to remember that this is primarily Yum Cha and not a full service, a la carte restaurant. The carts are circulated by servers who's first language is usually Chinese, so don't expect "premier" service. I like the atmosphere this creates. The food is ok, I have had better Yum Cha. Expect it to... More

Ok I was rushed when we ate here but I thought the dumplings were a bit average at times doughy! Service was a bit slack but it was absolutely packed to the brim I think I'll give it another try as my perspective may be skewed due to my panic to get back to training on time lol.

I am a regular customer at Marigold. I have been going for a few years now. I understand that everyone is busy... so I dont expect good customer service or friendliness. But today, I felt DISGUSTED because of one of your staff. When I called her first, she gave me 'the hand', as if to tell me to wait for... More

Been here many times over the years and the food is ok. The hype isn't quite the reality but it's certainly nothing to complain about. The service is very hit and miss and it's been my experience that there is definitely a preference given to those that can speak Chinese. I won't go here without at least one native speaker... More

The price per dish is affordable by everyone. It is around $25 for meat and $35 for seafood. The quality of the food is more than good. Consistence is always there. Not like some restaurants is good on certain days of the week only. The environment there is nice, not that crowded and enough space for gathering and chat. You... More

I took the Thai wife to yum cha at Marigold for lunch. I'd not been for 5-6 years. We arrived right on mid-day and the place was busy as usual. We were quickly asked our party size and being only the two of us were quickly seated. Chinese tea arrived without asking and the we stopped the first of the... More

Just held a wedding party for one of my son's, it was a party of 300. Everything went smoothly. Waiters were very friendly &helpful. Food is excellent, particularly the sea foods which were very fresh. Ultimately the price was a bargain.

Fresh local seafood cooked in Chinese style, also very good choice of dessert. Recommendations: lobster sashimi, fresh sliced abalone in hot pot, prawn dumpling, snow crab & variety of live fish... For dessert, must try the mini size pineapple bun!! Better than those big ones in HK!

Apparently this is the best spot for Yum Cha. That doesn't say much for the Yum Cha restaurants in Sydney. It is located over two floors (4 and 5) in China Town. We arrived on Sunday at 11.30 and it was packed by midday. A mixture of Asians and tourists alike. The food was ok - I found it a... More
