Longrain Sydney is located at 85 Commonwealth St in Surry Hills.

Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Longrain's menu has evolved from Martin Boetz's original Longrain vision, bringing South East Asian influences to carefully sourced ingredients with fresh, zingy flavours. His vibrant menu is carefully balanced with wines and cocktails chosen by restaurateur Sam Christie. Our long, shared tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended (limited reservations available).

Book one of our individual tables for parties between 6 - 10 people; or Private Dining Room for 12-18 guests.

Excellent food

It is easy to forget that Longrain is still here - as it is has been part of the Sydney scene for a long time while others have come and gone. I was here for a business dinner and arrived first. They no longer have a bar that you can wait at for other guests, which I found a bit... read more

The setting is nice and the service is good however I felt the food was a bit over rated. It was delicious but no tastier than other Thai restaurants. If you are a fan of Thai food and have a celebration I'd recommend

After hearing a number of glowing reviews about Longrain from various friends, I visited Commonwealth Street for an 8.30pm dinner for two on a Tuesday night. Space for a walk-in was tight, but we were able to be seated straight away on the end of one of the communal tables, side-by-side. Okay, not the best for conversation, but it can... More

We took the opportunity of an early dinner before the theatre - wow what a great experience. Staff were great and welcoming, and food was a real treat. Very efficient and organized with a great relaxed atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it all.

Our hotel concierge recommended Longrain and we were not disappointed, It has a very modern open setting with a lively bar scene. The four of us ordered the "Banquet Menu" at $65 per person. This option is for 3 or more people and the whole table needs to order. There were no worries because the variety of food and the... More

The reviews on tripadvisor were the main reason for our visit to the Longrain restaurant. The restaurant looks great: modern style, open kitchen, professional staff. As the snapper was highly recommended, we decided to try this dish. The presentation was beautiful, but the dish was disappointing: the fish was deep fried in pieces and quite dry. It was not bad,... Took a chance and got a table at the last minute. Food, wine and service were excellent. Really liked the shared long tables. The Pork was amazing. Lots of interesting changes to tradition. Worth a visit in Melbourne or Sydney.

Easily accessed by foot or public transport. Great food, good variety. Very modern menu and cocktails prior to being seated was a great start in bar area. One in Melbourne also. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This is simply the most delicious place for asian fusion food in Sydney. It is pricey but i never regret a single dollar i spend each time i go there. Professionnal and nice setting adds to this unique place

I'm not particularly fond of Eastern cuisine, but this restaurant serves dishes that can please also people who don't like over-spicy food. Service is kind and quick. Contrary to many restaurants in Sydney, the noise is tolerable. Prices are comparatively high but are acceptable. On Sundays they charge an additional 10%.
