Impressive food

Dined here recently for lunch and impressed again with high quality of the food. The hot and sour soup, har gow, mussels, salt and pepper squid, beef with pepper, pork ribs peking style and fish were all delicious. Best with a group. Service was good and don't forget that you can BYO (not cheap but... read more

We were very happy with our first experience at the Golden Century 18 months ago. However on our recent visit we were disappointed. Three of us were seated on 1/2 a round table which was pushed up next to a counter. This seating arrangement made it difficult to see each other and to hold a conversation. Probably the worst seating... More

Service is always excellent, fast and to the highest standard. Food is exceptional, not overpowering like some Chinese restaurants but excellently balanced. Recommend the crispy skin chicken with ginger and herbs. Add a few of their entrees (excellent dumplings) and you have an excellent meal for a reasonable price! Avoid some of the seafood dishes if you are looking to... More

Four of us visited this restaurant. They found a table even though we had not booked. Excellent service and lovely food. I can only say that we really enjoyed the meal and the evening out.

This is one of the largest restaurants in Chinatown. There is a constant buzz, sort of like entering a beehive. Waitpersons in constant motion, conversations taking place all around. It is an experience not to be missed. The menu is lengthy, in a heavy book with illustrations of something like the meal, not guaranteed. The food is great! Once you... More

I remember having a few hour transit at Sydney airport, hopping in a cab and dining at golden century to enjoy their live seafood. I wouldn't bother again after our last visit. Live seafood was fine but other dishes were awful, kids described the combination fried noodles 'looked like snot' (after we left the premises, they weren't being rude because... More

Golden Century in Sydney Chinatown is an institution. Its one of the few places open to the early hours of the morning. Many of Sydney’s top chefs go there after their restaurant has closed to chill, have a beer order, peking duck, pippsi in XO sauce. Those who enjoy fish, lobster crab, prawns, eels live from the tank then this... More

Sadly this one of the few restaurants in Sydney that serves good food is open really late. Happily , it's always good quality (and you'll always get a solid feed!). I've frequented the place plenty of times after most others stop seating you at about 10pm to enjoy a big Chinese meal and bottles of wine with friends. It's a... More
