Golden Century is a well known Chinese restaurant in Sydney. Always great for late night supper when most other restaurants are closed.
Go there for the food. We sat near a celebrity chef who was also there for a feed with his family. Well as per many other reviewers here have advised I can advise that the food was great. It was on the pricey side which tends to mean as clients we expect the owner has the following on their side-... More
This place is smack bang in China town with entrances fm Sussex and Dixon Sts. It's a well appointed typical mid to high end Chinese restaurant which specializes in Seafood and is just like one you would find in HK or Southern China. The service is fine and typical Chinese at this level. Not 100% as you may need to... More
This restaurant could be in Southern China. All the old traditions are there and the up selling is relentless. I asked for 2 very traditional dishes and both were well cooked. Be careful when ordering the seafood unless you know what you are doing. The congee is only available after 10 pm.
Fabulous food and great service, locals jammed packed into the place, always a good sign. We'll be back!
Each time we visit Sydney we eat here. Very disappointed this visit as we had taken family with us & had told them what a fantastic restaurant it was. However this visit we were very disappointed. Service was slow to respond. Asked a few times for wine glasses & eventually got them. Waiters were too busy talking on their head... More
Went on the weekend for XO pippies on crispy noodle, crab in ginger and shallot or crispy-skin chicken. With a nice bottle of wine and a beer, the meal came to $100 per person. It was worth it.
Visited this restaurant for my dad 60th Birthday and everyone had an awesome time. All the seafood was incredibly fresh and whilst slightly pricey you pay for the quality of the food. Make sure you make a reservation otherwise you will be joining the unhappy people waiting outside for a table.
This is our fourth visit to Golden Century and each time we have not been disappointed. The seafood (although a bit pricey), is definitely fresh and well cooked. Visit if you are after some great seafood, but not if you are after a romantic dinner for two as the atmosphere can get loud during busy periods. The best part also... More
The place gets very busy during dinner time. Despite our advanced reservation, we still have to wait for our table for considerable time. The food is good but rather expensive. Not sure if it is worth waiting.
