GREAT FOOD: WATCH THE TIPS

I've never had a bad meal at the Golden Century. The fish is fresh (you see them swimming in the tanks) & the other dishes tasty & varied. The Peking Duck is disappointing; it's not prepared in front of you as at most Chinese restaurants, but in the back kitchen & you get a tiny plate of crackling... read more

Have not been to Sydney for about 10 years, and when feeling peckish one night last week, decided to re-visit Golden Century, hoping to enjoy the high-quality meals I had there previously. Unfortunately, service on Sunday night at 1130pm was extremely slow and disorganised, and the food was not what it was before. Was told that the previous chefs have... More

The symphony got out late and my friend and I were told that this was the place where the post-shift chefs ate. We wanted to see Chinatown anyway so we headed over and the food was excellent. We split the salmon for an an app and I had the shrimp and vegetables for an entree. Everything was delicious!

This place is a surprisingly authentic Cantonese restaurant in Sydney. Tastes here are as authentic as anything you'd find on the streets of Hong Kong. The stars of this place is undoubtedly the live seafood. Fish, prawns, lobster, abalone, king crab - the variety is wondrous and prepared very well. If you want to know where the Chinese go to... My wife and I Went to the Golden Century Chinese restaurant for dinner last night. The first impression is the display of live seafood and the queue of people waiting for a table. We waited about 40 mins for a table after being told a 15 min when we arrived. Several couples who arrived after us were ushered to tables... More

This a reasonably expensive restaurant in the Chinatown area of Sydney. It offers a wide range of live seafood swimming in tanks. Been coming to this restaurant for over twenty years, every time I visit Sydney. A great place to entertain your guests and/or a nice meal with your colleagues.

Been coming here for years. Service might be a bit inconsistent sometimes but I think this is the best Chinese restaurant in Sydney. It's definitely not cheap but the quality of food is excellent. Love this place!

Certainly fresh seafood but flavors were on the bland side. The experience is authentic where you sit in a brightly lit hotel ballroom style dinning room with 50 plus waitstaff (none of which are specifically yours) and flag one down to order. Don't expect a greeting or any small talk. After tackling a waiter, you tell them what you want... More

Had the live prawns and live pippies. Pretty amazing. Not cheap but worth the visit. Heard a lot of good reports about this place and lived up to the expectation.

Lives up to its reputation. Great Chinese food (not specializing in all provinces obviously) however go and have what most people go there for - XO pippies. Delicious. Get whatever else you feel like, it will be good or great. Just be sure to suck some pippie shells empty of their delicious XO sauce while your at it. Have been... More
