Filthy food, filthy ladies loo

Please don't think from the title that the gents loo was ok, but I didn't visit. Wish I had, to give a view of the hygiene habits of the male employees. And the food? If like us you don't want seafood, stay away. Greasy, tepid Peking Duck. Grey, slithery chicken that looked like off tripe. Mushy... read more

Living in Vancouver myself, we are privileged to a great selection of good Chinese restaurants. Golden Century is a typical Chinese restaurant situated in the Chinatown of Sydney. It has all the typical characteristics of an older style restaurant in this surrounding. We ordered the "Choy sum" in fish soup and the fish broth was great. The lobster didn't disappoint... More

Ive been occasionally over the years when visiting Sydney. Usually have to queue to get in, for a good reason. There is some wonderful food here, although in slightly shabby surroundings. Just like real estate is about location, location and location, restaurants ought to be about food, food and food. The restaurant has not worried about ambience and decor, but... More

Had lunch at the Golden Century last Thursday. We were there at about 12:15 with no booking. We were directed to the second floor and the place was almost empty ( surprise surprise ). We were attended to promptly and food served within an hour ! The steamed parrot fish was delicious but a bit pricey. Salt and pepper squid... More

Our family of five came here for dinner on 22 Feb 2015. We ordered live lobster (1.8 Kg) braised with ginner & shallot, and other 6 dishes. At end of the meal, three of us got sick, after one hour my husband and I got sick as well. We paid $600+ for diner and all of us got sick.

Large restaurant with loads of fresh fish in tanks. Obviously a big turnover as quick and efficient service and at peek times very busy.

this is still one of the best chinese Restaurants in Sydney, the Pippies in XO sauce are always outstanding, although the Peking Duck was not up to the usual standard at my last visit, great service some waiters have been there for 30 years or so, and a fantastic wine list as well. Will return for sure on my next... More

After an absence of 10 years I was back in Sydney. Arriving late on a Sunday night I decided to visit an old favourite, Golden Century. Not much has changed, even at that late hour ( 11pm ) I had to wait ten minutes to be seated. I ordered mud crab in ginger & shallot and salt & pepper calamari.... More

This is my favourite place for fresh seafood. Some people are not into picking your dinner out of the live tanks but for me that all adds to the experience.

Service was dreadful could not get six meals to the table at the same time with the exception of two members the rest including the manager were rude. They knew the service was awful as they only charged for the drinks and the entree ps bunch of lazy people
