I must confess having worked at Jones Bay Wharf and attended drinks etc at Flying Fish, it didn't register as a good restaurant so wasn't too excited when my husband took me there for a birthday dinner. I was wrong. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant to leaving the experience was a delight. The staff were just lovely.... More

The staff and atmosphere was great but the food was overpriced and was quite bland. Had a spanner crab and scampi entre which while tasted good was far too overpriced. For the main had a Barramundi with what seemed to be a Sri Lankan take on a white fish curry. Individually elements tasted great but together just didn't work. Also... More

We were lucky enough to celebrate a family member's 50th recently at the Flying Fish Restaurant. The atmosphere in the wine room was fantastic. The wines were amazing and the food was spectacular (not big meals though). The staff were friendly and attentive all evening.

We had the Degustation with matching wines. The food was very well presented and quite good. The dessert plate was a triumph, with a 10 out of 10 rating. The wines very good. However, we found the staff rather offhand and perfunctory with a somewhat 'jaded' approach. One staff member who took us to our table was delightful, and the... More

Visited here for my sisters birthday. Lovely place. Atmosphere is great, lit up romantically and loved the setting. They treat you very respectfully (of course you would expect it from a place like this!). We tried the a la carte menu, with Spanner Crab entree, Chatham Island Hapuka and Barramundi as mains, and added chips as a side (well, the... More

We went for lunch and enjoyed the great views of Sydney harbour and the restaurant ambience. Really liked how the restaurant is set out with the old wooden beams and open kitchen. When walking in was a little annoyed when the restaurant manager asked if we made a reservation and when I said no she said its probably best that... More

We dined here as a party of 5 for dinner on a Wednesday night. Great modern seafood menu with lots of sashimi specials. Would recommend sitting inside, in the middle of the main restaurant for views out to the harbour bridge. The private dining room also looked very slick. Good international wine selection and attentive service. Great bar for pre-dinner... More

Not only is the food great but the view is superb and well worth a visit if a bit expensive but for a special occasion - what a deal. We tried the six course banquet which came with accompanying wines so a leisurely evening with friends and great ambience. set on the wharf parking can be a problem but if... More

One of the best restaurants in Sydney. A very interesting location as well. Instructions for parking can be arranged if you ring the restaurant. Good food with care.
