est isnt cheap but it was very good and I would go back which is the best compliment i could pay. menu had lots of choice and every course was a treat. service was very professional but you have to be patient. took 3 hours to do 5 courses and coffee. Better than Quay. more
We tried three restaurants whilst in Sydney and this outshone the other two by a long way - Quay which had a nicer room because of view, but food was not good and double the price of Este, and Bathers Pavilion, where the service was unbeleivably slow and just another restaurant. At $155AUD for the tasting menu, we were sorely disappointed, the service was horrific last Saturday night. We love to dine out and truly appreciate a great food and wine experience. We dined at est in mid- Sept on a Saturday night. With the hotel, nightclub and restaurant all located on different floors of the same building -- this place was one of THE places to be on a Staurday night in Sydney (and the line to get in the club was proof positive). We stayed at the Establishment Hotel overnight as a special treat as we were dining at Est. which is located on level one. The restaurant was wonderful and food truly awesome especially my entrée the Moreton bay bug with snow peas and lime and coriander cress and not to mention the mouth watering passionfruit soufflé.
