Impressed with food!

We would visit this restaurant again. We shared the garlic prawns in olive oil, garlic and chilli for entree and the paella for main. Both dishes were of high quality. The Sangria was really nice as well!! There appeared to be confusion however, amongst the wait staff, as to what dishes were to be... read more

We entered a nearly empty restaurant across from our City Life hotel. The place had only one pair of customers, and we worried. But the maître d came and sold us a bill of goods that turned out to be an absolutely magnificent meal + perfect, wonderful wine to match. We had Spanish dishes and we had seafood. We shared... Went with a bunch of the boys for a very merry night out as 2 of the group were heading to Spain that week. Good and attentive staff. Range of tapas was very good and woofed down in no time flat. Mains were generous to the point of being huge...but well, when in Spain and so we all gutsed out.... More

My wife and I first visited this restaurant back in the 70's, and for many years it was a highlight of our visits to Sydney, however, for a number of reasons, we haven't been here for years, so this week we revisited with a friend. It brought back many memories- indeed, the decor etc hasn't changed in all that time.... More

Staff are friendly and polite and the food was very tasty. Maybe not completely Spanish in authenticity yet certainly top quality. Grilled seafood for one was an extremely generous serve. Steak was beautiful and cooked perfectly. Grilled flounder was delicious. A very enjoyable dinner.

We have eaten at this establishment many times over 35 years and always enjoyed our meals, sadly however that is the past. Our recent trip was very disappointing.Lack lustre flavour and lukewarm to cold vegetables served with our veal dish. The only bright light was the hot crusty roll . This used to be a must visit each trip back to Sydney...no... More

The food was just awful. We selected 4 Tapas dishes - chorizo, calamari, sardines and prawns with garlic and chilli. The garlic bread and red wine were the tastiest part of the whole meal. Chorizo was just that - sliced and fried chorizo sausage. Deep fried calamari was like rubber. Sardines were just sardines fried in a pan and smelled... More

We had a great meal at Capitan Torres. Great service, server was able to explain all the different menu items, and the tapas style food and Spanish wine were delicious! Would recommend for a change of pace meal!

We tried the Seafood Paella for 2, yum! good friendly service, yummy food and close to Meriton Kent Street Apartments. I would recommend it.

When I worked in the city some years ago this place was a true delight. The food was very good and the service was so professional. However, when we went with friends for tapas recently it was a huge disappointment. It was almost like the staff hadn't had much experience preparing or serving Spanish food. The sardines were - well,... More
