Restaurant is a little tired. Needs to have some money spent on it. Fast and efficient service. Tasty food. Bit pricy for what it was.

We have returned to Capitan Torres on every visit to Sydney for decades. Never again after our most recent experience. The restaurant has expanded and it has not improved either the atmosphere, or the quality of the food. We ordered John Dory, the fish special of the day. The glutinous, immoveable grey mass with the enormous, cold, horrendously over-cooked potato... More

Excellent food and very good value.Great service. With Tapas available on the menu, it affords a great opportunity to taste the very diverse range of food that is represented by Spanish fare.

Sunday night dinner with the wife. Menu looked good from the display outside. Ordered two tapas plates, garlic bread and the mixed salad. Garlic bread arrived, then one tapas plate. Pause then the next tapas and to finish after eating all the salad. The salad was the best. Other food pretty tired. Seated next to the kitchen entrance and the... More

I eat out a bit and don't often do reviews but this was so bad I had to comment. The food was tasteless, overlooked and not fresh. Seafood particularly fishy smelling and dry. One Paella dish - reportedly for 3 people cost $87! Upon highlighting the poor food and exorbitant prices the manager was rude and dismissive. The only highlight... More

Went with my wife and 7 year old son. Service was attentive, friendly and really prompt. The restaurant is clean and conveniently located. There's a lot of options on the menu but no kids options (you have to chose from the regular menu). We went with a variety of tapas dishes which were fair, certainly not horrible, but definitely not... More

When in Sydney I am usually alone and I tend to have my little favourite places to eat, I guess they remind me of when I lived in the gorgeous city of Sydney. I am not one of these types to sit on my phone when I am alone and text every human in my contact list. I like to... More

Great tapas bar in Sydney. Had been here before several years ago and the place has been expanded into the premises next door. Hasn't lost any of its authenticity - had a few tapas with the sardines being a must! Good choice tapas / wine / beer and of course sangria. If you like tapas give this a shot!

After having a somewhat disappointing paella in Madrid last year, I'd stayed away from it until my wife convinced me to try the one at Capitan Torres. Well, all I can say is that you get PLENTY of seafood including a crab. Great value for money with a lovely atmosphere. Service was patchy, though.
