Good simple tapas well prepared in a nice atmosphere. Lots of brick and wood. Very nice sangria. I don't doubt that much of the garlic industry in Australia supplies this restaurant and it is mighty tasty as a result.

This would be the worst Spanish food I've ever eaten, I am a true lover of paella and I can't believe that they call a tasteless over priced with grey colored chicken legs traditional paella. It's a dish I've eaten all over the world and I'm extremely disappointed.

We have eaten at Capitan Torres a number of times over the years, as part of a larger group, as a family and as a couple, the service is always great, the staff know their stuff and if they make a recommendation, its because its good, not because they're told to sell it. We ordered a Lechon for my work... More

This would have to the worst Spanish restaurant I have been to. The only saving grace was the lovely waitress, Patricia, We waited well over an hour to receive any food. The paella tasted dry and the white bait entree was cold and like a cat treat you buy at Coles. We also ordered meatballs but they would have been... More

We have been visiting this Spanish restaurant for quite a few years and always look forward to the tasty tapas, rustic atmosphere and friendly staff. However, our most recent visit (June 2014) was disappointing. The food was okay, although not up to the standard of our past experiences. Although the waitresses were excellent, the Chinese manager was so openly rude... More

We arrived for an early dinner, the waitresses were a bit disorganised to start with but became more attentive and obliging as the restaurant filled and were helpful with menu suggestions. The sangria came from the bar to us via the meals order desk while the waitress entered somebody else's order. Not hygenic practice as it should have been delivered directly... More

We were in Sydney for the weekend and to watch the Vivid lights, and after hours at Circular Quay and Martin Place we eventually made our way to Liverpool St and the Spanish quarter, arriving around 10.30pm. The staff were obviously used to late arrivals, particularly when Vivid is on, and were happy to oblige with very quick service and... More

Came here for Boxing Day dinner. Have been visiting torres for years. The restaurant is great but the staff are what make it a gem! Jose is treasure and always ensures our visit is special. Food was perfect. Dont waste money going elsewhere.

Have been going to Capitan Torres for years. This will be the last time I will ever set foot into the place. The paella was not an authentic dish, the tapas where just terrible. The succulent pig was dry and tasteless. The sangria is way over priced, waiters where ok. Don't get me started with manager he was so rude... More

If one doesn't like garlic, this is the wrong place for you! The garlic chilli prawns were cooked perfectly, as were the Tasmanian Scallops, and the sangria is just right. BBQ baby octopus could have had a tad more cooking, but were fine - just missing the 'bbq crunch' that adds to them. Great service & good value.
