Maybe it was a bad night but no one here seemed to be in charge. I think our poor impression started from the first moment we got there. One of the outdoor gas heaters had gone out and there was a strong smell of gas. We informed the moan on the door and she tried to seat us directly under... More

It was my birthday and it was also a night of the Vivid Lights Festival in Sydney. I have eaten at the Blackbird many times, but, not in the evening. Mostly I have been for a work lunch. While the location is good, being higher than 'water' level, and the views good, I think Blackbird is lacking in atmosphere. It... More

Blackbird Cafe offers fine quality food ,perfect for lunch in the heart of Cockle Bay. The skewered chargrilled chicken marinated with a delicious sauce fell onto a bed of truffle mash and rocket was something else perfect with a glass of moscato ,definitely fulfilling. Relaxing waterviews on a gorgeous sunny day . Fish so fresh and great snitzel with the... More

My girlfriend and I have visited blackbird many times for birthdays and have always enjoyed it. Unfortunately something happened this Sunday past when we reserved a window table for 6 pm and then received a table by the toilets at 6:30pm. Will come back and try once more before giving up on a fantastic dining place

Blackbird cafe is a tourist trap. On a great position on cockle bay warf. We came here for a group booking of 10. After ordering food and drinks the waitress said, you need to be out by 830 we have another booking for your table it was 710 at this stage. I was literally shoved off my seat, drink in... More

The waitress who served our table was so rude. She didn't understand a drink order, so when she came back saying the bar staff wouldn't make a drink, I explained the drink was on their menu. The wrong drink was later brought out (about 30mins after ordering) and when I explained for a third time what I wanted, she snapped... More

We stopped in at Blackbird for a late lunch/early dinner on a rainy Saturday. They had the heaters going and we were able to sit beside one! We enjoyed the Steak and Salmon. Both were delicious. The atmosphere on a bright sunny day would be incredible! You can sit and people watch and enjoy the sights of the wharf. We... More

I have been to Blackbird on quite a few occasions now! Most recently I took my mum for the mothers day set menu, we had an absolutely amazing day. It's nice to be able to sit in a restraunt without being rushed or pressured in any way. The service was excellent and we sat in the sun on the balcony... More

We ate on a Thursday night and granted it was a bit busy, though the service really wasn’t up to much. We had to chase our drinks order, then the food order and when the kids’ burgers came the chips were cold. That said, my lamb salad was passable but nothing special. Looks like a classic after work place for... More
