Very, very good

Went to the old version in Surry Hills a few times and perservered with the childrens seats, now we have grown up ones so you won't want to leave. The service is first rate and the food delicious. We ordered the $75 7 course set menu. Food was served at inordinate speed with at best garbled explanations of what was included in each course. We had the feeling that the goal opt the staff was to get us out of the restaurant as rapidly as possible. The splitting of responsibilities between Order Taker and Food Deliverer does not... More

This restaurant was deliciously amazing! Booked online - it was super easy. They even phoned me to reconfirm booking which was nice. The food is ample and reasonably priced when you consider that they are large servings and are designed to be shared. I would suggest 2 mains and a rice between 3 adults. The rolls with beef brisket were... More

Lucky enough to have a 6 course degustation menu at the new Billy Kwong last Monday night. All the food was fantastic from the pickles to start to the buttermilk and Davidson plum ice cream. Couldn't choose between the wallaby tail with black bean and chilli oil or the yabbies in house xo as the dish of the night as... More

Used online booking - easily done. Kylie was present the night we were there checking every platter before it went out. Open kitchen was fascinating. Very knowledgeable staff. Attentive without being over present. Nothing was too much trouble despite the place being packed out on Friday night. Every dish was yummy. Next time we are back in Sydney we'd be... More

Came to Billy Kwong for our wedding anniversary and had the set menu. It was fabulous, I would come again for the entrees and pickles alone but the duck main was outstanding too. I was not expecting much for the desserts but the ginger pannacotta was delicious and the chocolate mousse was outstanding. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful.... More

Booking system worked well. No trouble booking a Friday night - was sent an email confirmation immediately after booking and a text reminder/confirmation request the day before. We were nearly half an hour late for our 7-9pm booking due to rain and parking problems but our table was held for us. Loved the handwritten specials menu but had trouble reading... More

loved the experience here with friends. Fresh and vibrant dishes, good Chinese cuisine with Aussie influences and native indigenous ingredients, organic, with a good wine list to compliment.

Food was okay, there are some interesting dishes. Subtle flavours and good technique. The service was appalling and did nothing to add the the experience. They were busy but you have to ask for any service and to get the menu or specials explained. I would rate it a 5 out of 10
