Modern Chinese cuisine

As a lover of Chinese food, I was super excited to try Billy Kwong - somewhat of a Sydney institution. Tucked away in a little corner of Potts Point, Billy Kwong is unassuming from the outside but packed full of atmosphere on the inside. The pork buns were delicious and delicate and the chicken... read more

The food fabulous, service infectious as the staff appear as if they were the owners, the open kitchen fun to watch. Great for 2/3 or four, no more as it is noisy.

Dinner at Billy Kwong is truly a special dining experience. Fantastic food, modern and interesting, but most importantly so delicious! Fabulous service, impeccable really. Quirky personalities complement the experience, you know you are in Sydney, the experience is urban & cool. Loved our dinner here, thank you for the memories.

There were some highlights: Service excellent, fast, friendly and attentive. The food started well, the dumplings with spanner crab and prawn in a Sichuan pepper & chilli sauce were marvellous. We had duck in orange which again was very good. There it ended. The friend rice with school prawns and pork was a let down. Bland, and worse - gluggy.... More

We were lucky enough to receive a gift voucher for Billy Kwong and were delighted by every little detail. The menu is so thoughtful and wonderfully Australian. We shared a number of dishes, but my favourites were the wallaby tail and the duck. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. The wine list was really interesting and I loved... More

Pre-booked online so was seated promptly. Daily menu difficult to read!! Waitress was very pleasant. The food we ordered - hokkien noodles, dumpling, white chicken and fried eggplant, all very salty. The noodles were served on salty liquid/sauce; all dishes far too salty!! Happy to pay for good food but this was not worth what we paid so unfortunately wouldn't... More

The restaurant is really dark which sets a great mood (but maybe a little too dark). We had the degustation menu which was great way to try a wide sample of the menu. The courses came to the table very quickly initially (really quick. We had the first 2 courses finished by the time the wine arrived) but slowed in... More

Dining at Billy Kwong was as much a gastronomical delight as it was an experience to savour, because I've always been a fan of chef Kylie Kwong, who was/is a regular on the Asian Food Channel. My cousin took me to the restaurant for dinner and since it was only the two of us, we didn't need reservations, but were... More

On a ridiculously cold winter's night ( well Sydney cold anyway), this was a welcome refuge. The service was impeccable and friendly and both the food and wine choices were a delight. If you like a bit of spice in your meal the John Dory with XO sauce was scrumptious and sitting at my office desk eating some rather uninspired... More

Very welcoming service on a cold Sunday evening. Kylie hard at work in the open kitchen. Very pleasant atmosphere. Full. Booking is easy online. Attractive menu and specials menu written by K. We had duck and also a special of pork belly. Both to die for. Pork belly should be a permanent menu item....please. Snapper came in an absolutely delicious... More
