Great conference dinner

We went with a group of colleagues for our conference dinner. The meal was 3 courses with alternate drops. My wife and I were able to share so were able sample a wide range of their menu. Entrées were croquette milanese with sauté scallop & hand rolled truffle gnocchi with beurre noisette both... read more

Having had some great meals at bel mondo, we were devastated that we had such a terrible experience. We normally give restaurants a second chance if they have a bad night but in this case we won't. It is obvious why they have lost their place in the Good Food Guide. Whilst the kitchen clearly struggled and our meals took... More

I went with my wife recently for our two year anniversary. I chose the restaurant due to the glowing reviews on eatability.com.au. The pros.... - The food was lovely, met the standard of the expectation for the price we are paying. My wife got the degustation, lamb shoulder was the highlight. I got the two course, my mushroom entree was... More

Wow. My entree was exquisite, my main course a delicious drop-off the bone slow-cooked lamb concoction, and this was no night for dessert. Make no mistake, the food at Bel Mondo is perfect. The service we experienced the night we went for dinner was impeccable. And to sit looking out of the window at one end of the looming spans... More

I recently went to the Restaurant as part of a group of 15. There were 3 hosts serving us, and 1 of them was so awful. He threw plates down, dropped cutlery when collecting dishes, it was almost like he was intoxicated. The other two staff were OK. The food was actually delicious. Had the food been poor, I would... Four of us went to Bel Mondo for a night out. The food at this restaurant was very lovely and we thought well priced. However the service was so bad. The lady who greeted us was nice and brought us to our table. It then took a while for someone to take our order. We got a complimentry starter which... More

We loved Bel Mondo - set at the top of an old bond building in the Rocks - had fantastic views - the decor is lovely - food great - the tart dessert to die for - great friendly staff

The food at this restaurant was very good, except that the servings were miniscule. A 2" square piece of pork belly is NOT a main course for anybody. The slow cooked lamb was also a small serve, but somewhat larger. The service however was appallingly bad. They took an age just to come and take orders for a first drink... More

My husband and I had a delicious meal there last night. The service was great and the food was very good. All items on the menu looked realy delicious. It was quite expensive but I will go there again. In the busy season it is worthwhile to book.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
